I like this trick. It's something you'll have to play around with.

8/10

Not trying to be rude, but do you think you could review this more thoroughly? I've been considering purchasing it and I was hoping for a review with more "fat" so to speak. You can go here for the review template.

Um, thats really not any better. Why post a review if your not going to put the effort into it to make it worth while. I hope this isnt how you treat magic in general.

How about this. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

The Effect
You cause a ghost, bloody number or basically anything you can think of to appear on a cell phone camera picture or even video. It set more for creepy things- like ghosts, bloody hand prints... but it can also be used to reveal a card or chosen number.

Cost
I believe around 15-20 bucks. The refill pack is around 6 bucks.

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
its easy to do, but requires some slieghts.

Dvd Covers:
The dvd covers how to perform the basic trick. It also expands on how to handle the gimmick, the cameras and/or phone camera. It explains how to make even more gimmicks as well. It covers still photos and motion videos. It covers predictions, spooks and horror.

Review
ITs great for parties, parlor, bar, and such. I use it alot at college parties and at the bar. IT can be greatly used on Halloween or like celebrations.
Its a rather simple idea, that can get great reactions. Because its rather simple, it gives you much more time to work on presentation. It also shows you how to make your own gimmicks, to customize the trick even more. The dvd also teaches a second trick, Ghost keys... its an alright simple trick with barrowed keys.

Overall
Great 8/10.

I remember when it first arrived in the mail - I watched the DVD, made the gimmick real quick, and immediately ran out and performed this at a local mall with no prior work or practice put into the trick whatsoever, in honor of Seige. I had a blast doing it too.

Well... that's not quite a review. The quote by the_mog isn't much better either. To review a product or trick that is marketed, you have to talk about what it is, the effect(s), cost, difficulty, an overall review of the whole thing and your little rating thing. You put only the little rating thing. Reviews aren't just so you can get a nice post count. It's so you may share your opinion with others who have purchased it or have considered purchasing it.

Saying 8/10, or "I liked it" isn't much of anything. In fact, it's pretty much as good as saying nothing. Next time, add a little more description to your review.

David The Cryptic: Thanks for the review. Does the position of the camera lens affect the trick? I believe I know how it's done, so it seems like certain lens positions could be problematic while trying to "naturally" hold the phone.

I havent had much trouble with the lens. But he goes over that in the dvd fairly well. But you should be able to hold it perfectly natural, with one or two hands.

There's a weird thing going on here... and it's in that statement... "How to 'naturally' hold a phone".

Just think about that for a moment... how do you 'naturally' hold someone elses phone to use it as a camera?

That's actually one of the little things I like about this... the cumbersome nature of the gimmick is covered by the cumbersome logistics of the borrowed object. Try it—go borrow someone's phone, and try 1st time to look 'natural' taking a photograph of them with it.

All you're ascertaining when picking up or scouting the phone is the LENS POSITION. From there, just keep moving ;)

If someone else's phone is different to yours then you would fiddle around with it due to the unfamiliarity.. Andrew Mayne covers this handling briefly on the DVD.
Personally, I have had no problems using GV and it gets a great response if you choose the right kind of spec. I make my own gimmicks now. Not that the ones with it are poor in anyway, but there are endless possibilites with this.
