Sankey

Okay, teaching at uni and doing an instructional vid are different, but he has very unhelpful pauses in the sequencing that distracts you form learning the moves. He could do without a lot of the stuff and get on with teaching the material

discoloration

Postby archimage » Apr 26th, '06, 03:39

I just recieved my 3 ring circus from Ellusionist. Guess what? My gimmicked ring is also discolored! Must be something with a batch of them. Did anyone else get them from Ellusionist?

3 rings

Postby DrTodd » Apr 26th, '06, 05:20

This looks like a common problem. There is a thread on hoe to make the rings and it turns out it is quite difficult. Maybe the best thing to do is change the colour of the remaining rings.

I can't fault Sankey. Love sitting through his tutorial vids. As I mentioned in another thread, I howled my way through the Sankey/Sanders sessions. I guess it's just my kinda humour.

It's a shame about the dodgy colour of the rings. I wonder if people got them from Penguin Magic! Hehe. Is it something which instantly stands out? It could be possible to paint them all with a fine mist of hard wearing spray paint. I accept no responsibility for gudging up your rings, it's just a suggestion!

You're not going to believe this, but I got mine from PM (this was before all of the fuss, it was just a cheap store - I thought) and I seem to be one of the few people here who had a ring that matched the others!

dave_100, I would probly edit that post a lot. If the mods catch you, they'll clap you in irons and send you to the dungeon.

It's not all bad, I'll send my girly along with her whip, haha...

complaint

Postby archimage » Apr 27th, '06, 20:23

I sent an email to Ellusionist about the discolored gimmick. They replied to send the rings back to Sankey with a receipt and then Sankey will replace them.

I think since Ellusionist sold them, Ellusionist should go back to Sankey for me. In the end all that matters is getting a new ring, but it appears to me that this is a common problem and should have been corrected by now. I also think there should be a warning stating that many of the packages have a discolored ring and that it will be replaced without any problems.

Rings

Archimage is correct. I do not perform mine because of the discolouration and I haven't had a chance to return it.

...i didnt buy mine from PM - mine is discoloured too - won't the old HP sauce trick work on it? ive yet to try...it works for old and discoloured coins at least...

probably worth a nosey through the charity shops for some old and discoloured keyrings if not..

Those who had issues with your linking rings was it that you all received a fully discoloured ring? Or was it partly discoloured?

EDITED BY MODS: too close to exposure.

By the way I really loved entire DVD and even though his humour is a little wacky I enjoyed it.

I am sorry if the moderator who edited my post, felt I was too close to exposure but I would have to disagree with their point of view. Firstly, I cannot see how someone who has not purchased this trick would be able to guess the secret just from the statement I used containing the 'w' word and secondly the word I used is displayed on the video advertisment for this product which flashes within the following statement in big white text across the screen: “featuring a new & improved w______ g_______!” Knowing this, I still purposely left out the second word.

But nonetheless it pleases me to see that this forum is constantly monitored and that the moderators are actively doing their job around the clock. So I have no hard feelings  - just defending my case.
