Jay Sankey's Just Imagine (with DVD)

Postby card_shark_2006 » Jul 28th, '07, 05:10

The Effect: Jay Sankey's Just Imagine (with DVD)

Cost: $20 Canadian

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
I would say 2.5 because there are basically 2 sleights, but both are incredibly simple.

Review
My review is categorized, it's my thoughts on the price, instructions, etc.

Price: The price is well worth it considering you get a DVD and gimmicks necessary for the trick. The only extra thing you MIGHT have to buy is markers, but you might have them laying around home anyways.

Preparation: The prep is very, very quick. It took me about 5-6 minutes to prepare this trick, and once it is prepared, you never need to do it again. He guides you through the set-up on the DVD also.

Instructions:
Written - The written instructions are surprisingly great! They explain the trick very, very well. With most tricks the written instructions frustrate me and are very bare-bone with no detail. These ones are great though.
DVD: The DVD makes this 10 times easier than the written instructions to set-up and perform than the effect, and the written ones are GREAT! Jay goes through every single step in detail and gives little pointers to simply make the trick better. He explains why you should do or say certain things to the spectator, which makes you understand the concept of magic just that much more. There is also bonus material and handlings. There is also previews of his other DVD's.

Overall: Overall I give it a 9/10. It loses a point because it cannot be done to the same person more than once.

Hope this helps :D

Nice review but...ermmm...what's the effect?!

You tempt me with the great comments, but leave out what should be the main bones of your review, you great....big....TEASE!!!!

Also, it would be good if, when you edit your review, you could add a direct link to where it can be bought :D

EDIT: Oh - hang on a sec, though - this has already been reviewed here: http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic12605. ... ine+sankey

Number 1 Top-tip when submitting a review: ALWAYS use the TM Search, and add your review to the existing thread...cos I'd imagine that this one will be locked now, and readers redirected to the existing thread :(
