My Review of the Effects and DVD:
Rating 1out 10
Difficulty 1 out 5

First DVD starts with a live performance of Carl. Its just great to watch, even my family liked to watch it. He is a great performer. It encases all the effects taught on the DVDs, so you can see them in action.

Bill in Kiwi: I love this effect, and the routine of it. Its good for parlor, stage, kids, could even be done while buskin. Basically you barrow a dollar bill, have it signed, make it disappear, then reappear in a kiwi that has been in the hands of an audience member the whole time.
Its taught very well, very thorough. The moves used in the act can also be used for quite a few effects. It takes very little set up.
Rating:9 Difficulty: 3

Sports Ball Routine: Great little routine using mini sports balls. A great manipulation and metamorphous act, with balls. It great to just watch him do it, its so smooth. This effect will take quite a bit of practice to get the moves down.
Rating:8 Difficulty:4

Bounce, No Bounce: A great comedy act, using a couple of rubber balls. You take one and can easily bounce it, yet you give it to an audience member, and they fail.
Rating: 8 Difficulty: 1

Traveler: A 4 card travel routine. 4 randomly picked cards are disappeared, and found in 4 totally different parts on ones body. Even in ones Soc. it’s a nice effect, takes a bit of practice, some parts or it are harder than others. You will also need to build a special something.
Rating:7 Difficulty: 4

SimFast: A chosen card is signed and lost in the deck. It is then found in a SEALED, tub of Slimfast. The method is genius. Great for stage, parlor and kids. Does take some pre-prep.
Rating:8 Difficulty: 3

Pepper Routine: A handkerchief is signed, drawn on, dated… then made to disappear. It then appears in a bell pepper, that has been in the hands of a spectator the whole time.
Rating:7 Difficulty: 2

Magazine Routine: I don’t quite remember this one. I will go back and watch it. And post it.

Cards Across: Another version of the cards across. His uses a method that is taught earlier in the DVD. I really like this version, as your hands are clean throughout the trick. It does require a special thing though.
Rating: 8 Difficulty: 2

Liquid Asset: You take a real shot glass have it signed a fill with a liquid. You make it disappear and appear else where on your body. The way he performs it is great, and just a little more mature. Does require a few special things.
Rating: 7 Difficulty: 3

Coin Trick: A great coin routine. Too great to even begin to explain. Its not the easiest to learn, I still don’t have it down. But that might be because I don’t really try, not to big into coins.
If you love coin routines, this is a great one.
Rating: 8 Difficulty: 4

Over all review:
This is a great DVD. Though many of the effects require a certain thing, most performing magicians will already have this. Everything it taught very very well. He’s a great performer and a great teacher. This DVD is good for parlor, stage, kids and even buskin.
Rating: 9

Nice review and a nice DVD.

I somehow managed to get two free copies of this from different suppliers who gave them away as part of an offer and on both occasions it also came with a free copy of the Art of Card Splitting

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hi,

I agree with the other guys - this is a nice DVD. I picked it up cheap and wasn't expecting that much from it but was pleasantly surprised. It also introduced me to a new device (new to me but one of the real oldies I suspect) the Toppit. Even if you choose not to use any of the effects, the performance is very enjoyable.
