Sorry reviving an old post but I had to tell you about this:
I went to Costco today and got a brick.. IT WAS 8.99!
Abosolute bargain! Thats about 80p a deck! You get 12 decks of completly normal quality, it was great.

They had LOADS in stock (it was the Watford branch).

Get them now! Its a great bargain.

Just to confirm the above - we joined the local Costco today and I bought an assorted brick, 6 red, 6 blue, for £8.99 plus VAT = £10.56. Just 88p a deck! Some bricks had $13.99 on which I guess would be the USA price when sold over there. It's £20 a year for one member but only £12 each for additional members and the other savings opportunities (especially in the Wines & Spirits Dept) are very tempting!

Has anyone actually bought a set - and can confirm they are ok?

I heard this storry was being put about by dealers who still had loads of packs at £3.50.

About 5 years ago I sold two bricks to Pat Fallon and he could not belive the price.

The Costco in Glasgow has loads of them and they don't seem to be shifting. I'm holding off for a sale :D

I have noticed only one minor thing about the costco bikes, that their edges are slightly rougher than the ones you buy from dealers

But after using them for a bit, the edges become smoother.

Has anyone else found this?

A couple of questions

Postby AndyG » Nov 15th, '04, 17:02

Does anyone know if the Leeds branch of Costco has bikes in stock?

I thought I might call in next week if they do but it's a bit of a journey (not to mention the £20 joining fee) going to Leeds if they're not available.

If they are available and anyone wants some collecting, PM me and we can make the neccessary arrangements.

They do have some in, and there in the middle of the books neatly hidden (they must be trying to avoid all of the yorkshire Magi swarming the shop!)

Thanks Mark :)

Well, that settles it then. I've got next Tuesday (23rd) off, so I'll be paying Costco a visit. 2 or 3 bricks should make the joining fee worthwhile.

Apparently, according to Paul Daniels, the american Costco's sell 48 sharpie markers for the grand total of.............................£2.50!

Costco is great, but from my experience, one in 12 decks has some badly printed cards.

But its a small price to pay

I take it Costco don't have a faulty/returns policy?

As you say, it's a small priceto pay.
I dare say if they're not too badly printed they can be used somewhere - maybe in a torn/restored card trick (for example).
