Torn by Daniel Garcia (DVD)

Cost: $35

The Blurb::

The Effect
In the basement of a seedy Las Vegas hotel, Daniel Garcia slowly touched two pieces of torn playing card together. Achingly slowly, with no cover. And then he let go of one piece, and it was restored!

Paul Harris shook his head and softly muttered, If this kid’s not using some kind of sticky stuff, he owns me.? Daniel restored the third and fourth pieces in equally miraculous, just-touch-it-and-oh-my-god-it’s-restored ways, and handed Paul the card.

NO STICKY STUFF.

In lieu of Paul’s mortal soul, Daniel agreed to let Paul get Torn out to the world. It really is the next great leap forward in the piece-by-piece restoration; it's totally practical and even more magical than the original TV-only version.

With this DVD and a little work you’ll have a breathtaking magical effect you can do anywhere with any freely selected signed card.

Torn didn't just astonish Paul Harris -- Daniel has owned just about every magician and for sure every laymen he’s shown his creation to. Daniel Garcia's "Torn" is a must for anyone who wants to perform a truly miraculous piece-by-piece restoration.

MY Blurb:

Effect and Review:
You have a card chosen and signed. You then proceed to tear the card into fourths right in front of them. You then begin to restore the card right in front of them. Then you hand it too them.

It really does not use any ‘sticky stuff.’ Its fully examinable before and after. IT is a little angle sensitive, but with proper crowd control there should be no problem.

Daniel is an excellent teacher and covers this single effect extremely thoroughly. He does it from several different angles (front, back, sides even), in slow motion, regular speed. He teaches it step by step, hand and finger placement, and even those steps can be separated (broken down, and many are). All so you can see everything that is happening, so you get what to do and when to do it. Daniel also gives a short history on it, and his thoughts on the performance of it. The DVD is very well put together, and easy to navigate through.

This routine will take quite a lot of practice, this not something that you an just go out and perform in a few weeks. So if you don’t like to put a lot of effort into your magic, then this is not for you. But if you are willing to put the time and effort into this routine, it will be well worth it.

This is one of my favorite torn card routines, actually it is my favorite.

I will review any effect, dvd, or book I like thank you.
Whether its been reviewed already or not. People do like to hear other peoples opinions on a specific item.

Now if the mods want to move it there, thats fine.

I didn't mean it in a negative way, no need to get to get defensive about it. I just thought it was forum policy to have one thread per effect.

for someone who spends so much time chastizing the noobs, you would think you would know the rules. I don't think anyone was having a go, just a reminder the same as anyone else gets reminded.

hate to be stirring things up - but Im all for having more than one review per product - shows lots of different oppinions of a certain thing - some people may love an effect / DVD they have purchased and may write a totally different view of it when compared to another TM user - as I said, I'm not meaning to 'mix things up' or cause trouble, I just think all for people reviewing products, even if they have been reviewed before

:D

(for example, I have this effect and was going to review it...but seen as it didnt really take my fancy as a trick I didnt want to come across as giving a bad review, cos its not, its a great trick and I think David has summed it up brilliantly :))

That sounds exactly the reason why there's the ability to REPLY to a post.

It is good to have many reviews of the same product. In act we encourage it.

However what we prefer at Talk Magic would be if you added your review to the end of the existing one, so that where possible there is only on thread for each product. This makes it much easier then to read everything about the product and people do not have to make the same reply in both threads.

The mods can not merge threads so we DO ask that members search first and if the product has already been reviewed you add you read the existing review then either comment on it or if you prefer you add your review to that thread.

Thank you.
