Ali must be like the Blue Peter of the magic world. He manages to come up with props by joining bits and pieces of card, plastic or other items found around the house. He manages to come up with routines which are entertaining to any age, partly due to the simplicity of the effect.
Good Points
It really is magic for everyone. It is clear enough for children to understand both from audience and magician point of view. If a 10 year old wanted to learn magic from a DVD, there should be enough here for them. Ali doesn't tend to use sleights, which makes it easier to concentrate on the performance, rather than learning lots of sleights.
As it was filmed at a lecture, by the looks of it quite a while ago, there are people walking in front of the camera at times. The quality and colour on the DVD isn't fantastic. Ali was hurrying to try and get as much as he could in, so it isn't like a smooth demo you get from normal magic DVDs.
There is a mixture of magic on here, with Ali showing some uses for his props. people may not use them how he does, or may even change the props to suit, but that is what the DVD is about. Why pay £25 on a gimmick or prop that sort of does what you want, when he shows just how easy and cheap it is to make your own.
