...Just to add, for those interested in the longevity of this effect's influence - one year on, and this is STILL - way and above - the very best coin effect that I've ever used!!

If this effect is still available, and you have the required wonga, it WILL be money well-spent...or I'll eat my CUPS

....Aaaaannd here we are again, yet another year down the line.

Whilst I still resolutely stand by all of my comments on this breath-taking piece of real magic (it really IS that good...STILL!), I seem to have been moving away from coin magic for a little while now.

So (with a big breath), if anybody would like to make me a REASONABLE offer for mine, please do drop me a quick PM (make it *very* quick, though, as I'm swinging between letting somebody else have the benefit, and keeping it in the hope that I may get back into coins again).

The only UK supplier, for current pricing, that I can find is here: http://www.magicbox.uk.com/digital-dissolve.html (£37.00)

...As I say, the first *reasonable* offer will grab a small classic of in-their-hands stunningness!

Any offers?

Got mine on Christmas day: well impressed! One thing I noticed with this is if you position yourself under a strong light source, the transposition looks even more spectacular, due to the difference in colour being more pronounced.

Then pimp that in your patter! Really play that up. Drag specs around the room to the brightest spot, out from the shade of a tree, etc. all while pointing out that you are doing so for their benefit. Even go so far as to ask their input as to whether it's brighter over here or there, etc. Go wherever they think is best. They'll be on your side in no time and you'll cross that barrier of performing with them rather than at them.

Hmmm... I have to say that I got this last year, and have spent a bit of time with it, and for me... well, it's just not a "worker"

Here's why...

It seems to be a gimmick for a gimmicks sake! I learnt a gimmickless copper/silver transformation from International Magics Basic Coin Magic dvd and have had far better reactions from it! (Your not left exactly clean with either, but you'll almost always have on you what you need to perform it!) ... I certainly will say though that the actual transformation of Digital Dissolve is VERY visual and VERY sweet! But this just seems to be something else to fiddle around with thats really not needed...

Maybe I'll go back to it in a year or two and rediscover it as the most amazing trick in the world! (If anyone has any performace tips they feel like sharing to help me bring this to life, feel free to PM me! (and on that note, Darth and Robb, good points about the value of light with this!) ... but for now it lives at the back of the CUPS box!

How do people solve the problem of getting into this? You take the coins from your pocket, then you need to adjust before starting....how do you cover the adjustment without saying "Hold on a minute" and turning your back?

One, small elastic band later, and there's no need to adjust anything; it keeps everything you need safely together, and is rolled off with your thumb as you retreive the coins from your pocket :D
