Mental Photography Deck - How To Do It

Postby Johnny Bravo » Dec 25th, '07, 16:50

Merry Christmas All :D

Right I am going to start off this post admitting I fully intend to defy the laws of this forum by asking how an effect is done outright.
(Having defied the laws of physics & gravity at breakfast time I'm ready to take yer all on ) 8)

Seriously, I have an ebay shop & sold a deck called Mental Photography, now apparently I sold this deck without instructions, & as it was my last one I have no idea how the effect works.

So would some kind soul be prepared to scan the instructions & pm them to me, else I'm gonna have to give this person a refund, get the deck back, try & figure it out myself & rewrite the instructions :x which I hope I don't have to.

Any takers... Thanks

In the UK this is often known as the Nudist Deck. I think there is a description of the effect in one of the Don Alan books. I do know there is a description in the Al Goshman book by Patrick Page. It is a terribly good trick if it is presented correctly.

I think seige has a routine for this, maybe if you ask him nicely he might help you out.

I have no scanner so cant send you the instructions that appear on the inside of the wrapper.

Why don't you go to your nearest magic shop and purchase a "mental photography" or "nudist" deck? Copy the instructions. Simple.
You can buy the oriental deck dirt cheap. Probably a pound or two at most. It comes in a blue box and is called the blank deck or something.

Yes t'was thinking that, just a shame my local mag shop is around 40 miles away, but will have to ebay it.

Pah, £7.99 plus £1.50 postage! :(

I've since found out from my supplier that the instructions were on the outer wrapper so I imagine the silly person ripped that off, through it away & then wondered where the instructions were...

If that be the case it's not really my fault, although I would like to help 'cos I'm lovely 8)

I meant the oriental decks will be no more than a pound or two. The one with the blue cases.

I should be able to find a set of instructions for this, PM me your e-mail address, and I'll try and dig them out tomorrow night for you. The deck I own is from Royal Magic.

Of course, strictly speaking this thread is a no-no so if anyone can help, perhaps via PM would be the best way?
