Contents
A history of the Magic Circle, from the ideas and magicians behind its
conception, right up to the present day. Special events, Royal Performances and the Magic Circle Museum are included. This book deals with more than the Magic Circle though. Michael Bailey starts from the beginnings of known magic, taking you through medieval times, right up to the present day. There are biographies on the magicians who took magic forward in different eras. You learn the rivalries and friendships that either made magicians invent new routines that are still thrilling millions today, or the amount of stealing of routines, or even complete shows that sometimes went on.
Comments
I hold my hands up and admit this is the first book I have bought on the history of magic. It has made fascinating reading, which has given me a desire to learn more. It was one of those books that I just couldn't put down and one which I know I will read several more times to let the information sink in. Final comment would be that this is a very inspirational book, well worth buying.
