What they say
"Impromptu work is the most valuable, commercial and closely-guarded information there is." - Jay Sankey

For years, magicians and mentalists have been asking Jay about his unreleased impromptu work. Now on this very special DVD, Jay shares a mind-blowing collection of 34 routines, the vast majority of which have never before appeared in print, on video or DVD.

34 astounding magic and mentalist effects with borrowed keys, coins, business cards, paper money, wooden matches, finger rings, playing cards, elastic bands, pens, cigarette packs, books, newspapers, paper matches, napkins and more!

Jay also shares the real work on such essential topics as the power of impromptu performances, combining magic and mentalism, magic with a borrowed deck, scripting, the importance of simplicity, and handling props within the impromptu setting.

Never again say, "Sorry, I didn't bring anything with me!"

What I say

Easy it's not but as I'm new to all this I never thought it would be. It's great to watch and at nearly 3 hours long it is great for inspiration if nothing else. I'm working on three of the routines * at the moment and I don't think I will have a problem with most of them long term. Jay is a great teacher, but then I've not seen any other DVDs so I can't compare.

It's mainly sleights work so if you have no intention of learning this DVD is not for you, but with only a little practice I'm moving forward with my sleight.

Overall
8.5/10
I would have given it more but some poor editing on the video makes it hard to follow on a couple of tricks.

My first dvd purchase and I still love this and go back to it from time to time.

Even from the first effect "change in direction", a business card baffler, it had my interest.

The 3 card monte routine is simple and effective and I often do this especially if handed a deck to "do something with".

Also reviewed previously here and here

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

I know see the other reviews monkeymagic

I searched under the "Electronic media format" section and didn't find anything about this DVD.

Could someone explain why some reviews are in the "Reviews" section and some are in the other review areas?

Very briefly, we used to have just the Review section and everything went in there. Not too long ago we had repeated requests to split these into different areas so make life easier for people who were searching for reviews on, perhaps, books rather than prop based items so we changed things and introduced the three areas you now see. Of course the old Review section is still there and will remain until we move all the old reviews into the newer areas but that's a long term job. In the meantime, check out the Reviews Index which Replcant has painstakingly worked on - well worth a visit!

In that case we'll ask Replicant to check and add as necessary - he took over the job after a period of inactivity so there are bound to be Reviews not covered - all part of the fun of TM  !
