Here's the link to the forum but there's no update as yet.

Keep checking but remember that David and the World Magic team had a really busy weekend so will no doubt be taking a well earned break!

For the last 18 months i've been performing what I called Psychokinetic Coin using the Superman gimmick. The instructions which came with the gimmick geared you towards just bending the coin & taking credit for how strong you were so I created an effect which built in the misdirection to get the coin in the participant's hand & have them believe the coin was bending whilst they held it. It needed lots of misdirection, used 3 participants to create the misdirection but nevertheless I was happy with it.

Recently the gimmick started bending at the edges & as uk 10p's are varying in width I was never confident in using them. I spoke to David at Blackpool with these concerns & after a demo with the Coinvexed magnet too I snapped up Coinvexed. I have watched the dvd 3 times now & have 'created' the gimmick using the coins. I haven't test run it but I think it far surpasses the Superman & the misdirection combined with the magnet will blow them away.

Just to add a little, I went to Blackpool with a friend of mine who had no idea what Coinvexxed was and he was very impressed and spotted nothing (he's a skilled magician) such is the excelent routining and device its self.

What really sold it to him was the movement of the coin though as this just fried his Brain. Also I was speaking to another magician in the BandB who said you have to get the additional item required as that's what blew him away as well.

So, time to buy some araldite and set up this little beauty

I have to say, David showed me this at Blackpool on the Friday, and it absolutely blew me away! He seems like a nice enough chap as well, and even paid me a compliment or two.

In my opnion, this is a great gimmick, but only if you are a working pro. It would take a lot to justify an £85 price tag to an ammateur hobbiest, but the effect is beautiful, and I can see myself using this night after night.

One small point, the quality of the DVD is somewhat lacking, I would have expected more for the price tag, but the information and knowledge that David shares is priceless, and proves that he has spent time perfecting this routine.

David, if your reading this, thank you so much for releasing it, it truly is a beautiful piece of kit, and amazing thinking!

Does this come ready to use or is it something you receive the instructions for and have to make yourself?
I am tempted to buy this but considering the price, recent posts imply you have to purchase other materials and build it.

Can someone clarify please?

All you need is a hand full of coins, a dvd player & a tv. I agree it is a lot for a hobbiest but i'll be using it week in, week out for bookings. Another plus side is that once the Superman was set up in the jacket I either stayed in the same jacket or you spend time getting it in the right place on another jacket, with Coinvexed it is pocket based & also can be done with short sleeves.

For the workers amongst you, this is a fraction of a booking fee & looks like it will last.

Thanks you so much guys.

I have just woken up after the Weekend after only having about 9 hours sleep from Friday to Sunday.
I think people may of thought I was going a bit over the top when I said how proud we were of the gimmick but hopefully you see what I mean if you purchased it.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the stand to watch the dem. I think I demonstrated it a few hundred times judging by the box of bent coins we took away. I actually did have a nasty blister come out by Saturday night but I doubt that anyone will be performing it as many times as I did in those two days.
When I have dealt with all the office work from the business I will try to find some time to write up the presentation that evolved over these performances. Anyone that saw the routine and patter on the Sunday is welcome to start discussing it and sharing it (The Stick Man/Inner Strength Presentation).

I manage to have a look on the forums every now and then so if you have any questions feel free and ask away.

Kind regards and happy bending!!

Magnets

Postby The Last Deck on the Left » Feb 27th, '08, 15:05

Firstly - David this is an amazing concept - congrats and thaks for releasing it :-)

My main question regards using a magnet for the approach that David demonstrated at Blackpool - where the 2p really moves around in the hands of the spec. Can anyone suggest what magnet to buy that will do this job well?

I have a Wizard PK ring but that isn't strong enough. David mentions on the DVD that there is an official 'coinvexed' magnet for sale, but I can't seem to find that on the World Magic Website. Would the M5 system be suitable? - Is that a better option to go for, to get the shims and booklet that a lot of dealers sell as a bundle?

Thanks,

I don't know if the M5 would work as I'm not that familiar with it but I've seen the Coinvexed magnet demo'd and I'd vouch for it's strength

if you can't find it on their web then why not give them a phone call?

Big/Monster Bertha or similar might be powerful enough.

I'm wondering who got the contract to shift and recycle all that scrap copper and metal at the end of the convention!
