Nicholas Tweedy

I had a look to see which magicians are performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival this year, and it seems that Nicholas Tweedy is more or less the only magician or mentalist on offer. I would like to start a discussion of his work, mostly in order to help me decide what to prioritise seeing at the Fringe this year.

Having looked at his website and watched the relevant Youtube videos, I'm not thinking "Wow!" but nor am I thinking "Rubbish!". If there were a lot of different magicians to choose from I would probably pick another one, not because I think Tweedy's performance looks bad in any way but because it doesn't seem to coincide all that well with my personal tastes. However, since it's basically him or nothing, and his show could be quite good entertainment live, perhaps I should make it a priority.

What do you think?

I think you should grab almost any chance to see magic performed live, it's so very different to the TV type of magic and if we don't support it, there won't be much to look forward to in the future. If you manage to get there, be sure to let us know all about it please.
