Close up cards

Postby harimau » Mon Feb 25, 2008 2:50 am

Hello to everyone

Heres a short clip I posted of me performing. Its close up with cards with various effects in the routine. Still working on variations.

Any feedback welcome

Cheers

that is very much like the Vernon trick i preform called "matching the cards" very nice
There is one Magic shop in my town and it is far away. I don't get there much. They also don;t have alot of stock because it is also a costume shop. I mostly stick to close up and card tricks.

Hi Harimau,

One question, why did you not show the faces of the cards before you started the effect ?

Thanks to everyone who has taken time to watch my vid and for the comments/feedback, much appreciated.

I havent seen/read Vernons trick, but I can say that this was inspired by Peter Kanes take on "gambler vs magician" plot and some of Roy Waltons theories. That was my handling of the plot minus last transpo.

Hi Tenko

I am not sure why I didnt show the faces. I can only guess its because Im used to using a full normal deck which can be handed out and shuffled

Has it taken away from the effect that the faces arent shown?

It looks nice, although the initial part where you show the 2's I got a bit annoyed when you repeatedly snapped the card. Overproving that it is one card methinks.

That was very enjoyable, a real pleasure to watch!

Very smooth all the way through!

My only niggle was the way you table the deck between the productions of the "2's" at the start. It just looked a little awkward and wasn't as silky as the rest of the performance.

This is me being hyper-critical so please don't take offence as the routine was excellent, just a little tweak that may (or may not) help. :D

I really liked the last transpo, something a little different. I was half expecting you to go into a version of Reset and was pleasantly surprised! Hoorah!

Good stuff

I really enjoyed that, very well performed.

Only one minor criticism, is that you handling at the start of the trick seemed a bit fiddly and ever so slightly rushed, the rest of the handling however was good.

Might have to steel this one for my routine, i think it could be a very powerful opener.
