I couldn't agree more, and would like to propose an addendum to the rules and regs to ban usernames that are the names of recognisable, living magicians who are not you.

Very true how do we know you are the real Adrian Morgan. You could just be pretending to him. Come to think of it I dont think Mandrake is really the Mandrake.... Just asked Flash Gordan and turns out he is.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

If it would make you feel better, I could make the words "Markdini is a silly person" appear on Adrian Morgan's website (i.e. my website). However, I don't see the point, because the criteria I specified were "recognisable", "living" and "magician" and I'm not convinced that I score significantly on any of them, let alone all.

So far as I know, we've never had anyone actually try to make people believe that they are a famous magician that they are not (and how long do you think someone would last if they did?), but I strongly believe that even when overt deception is not the goal, using the name of a celebrity as though it were your own is irresponsible.

I included the "living" criterion especially for Mandrake...

I agree that it is immoral to pose as any magician, famous or not, on theses sites but at the same time a lot of people would use a name as a homage to a magician without actually claiming to be him/her. So i think that banning famous names might be off putting to new members, and it would probably be better to let the moderators decide if someone is impersonating or just aknowledgeing and act accordingly as to whether or not they should be banned.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

I'd be somewhat concerned if you didn't score significantly on the "living" criteria.

And I'm sure you'd probably do well on "magician" too. It's just Recognisable that you may not. Although I wouldn't know cause I don't know too many magicians.
