Personally, if you've ready PMM I'd personally recommed Corinda before getting anything else. Learn what's in those two before looking into anything else, all the foundations that you need are there.

For anyone getting in to mentalist I don't think you can go anywhere until you have read Corinda.

There's probabaly one thing that you might need to remember here, mentalists aren't really particularly honest souls and they may not really be using the methods that they might make out to be using ;)

Although some of them may deny it, all mentalists are magicians. And all magicians are liars. (Including me.)

But seriously ...

Luke's work is very advanced. I suggest that the best source for you would be Banachek's first PS book.

Some of Luke's stuff is very straightforward in operation but needs a lot of expertise to carry it off successfully. Beginners would perhaps be best advised to work on more basic routines to build up their abilities and skills. Having said that, there's no reason why you can't buy Luke's effects now and have them handy for when you feel ready to do them proper justice.

13 Steps to Mentalism is the first book I'd suggest.

The problem is, I think that I'm not sure what you're really looking for actually exists. There are plenty of mentalists out there who claim to be using psychological techniques when are in fact using the sor of methods that you'll find in Corinda and Annemann. Yes there is some psychological material but I don't think that it's the holy grail that you're looking for.

Indeed, I enjoy reading mentalism books for the thinking about presentation rather than method as that part is more often than not an old technique. Bairn is great as is A piece of my mind for recent books but not really what is being asked for.
