Enter the twisted yet brilliant mind of the UK's Liam Montier. Famed for his inventive and ingenious solutions to every magical plot he tackles, this respected practioner has a magical effect for every situation!
Like some crackpot inventor, Liam is renowned for his ability to take ANY object at hand and construct a fantastic routine around it. Across the two volumes of "The Wicked World", you'll find material using everything from cards, coins, bubblewrap, bank statements and lollipops to corks, business cards, socks and string - you name it, Liam will use it!
And what's even better, is that this stuff is EASY!
Come and visit The Wicked World Of Liam Montier - you might never leave!
Effects:
Measles - Demonstrate that even cards get unwell with this great combination of ideas from Paul Harris and Jay Sankey, when measles spread all the way through the deck, before fading away.
Coin in Case - Display a borrowed coin, and make it penetrate through the cellophane around a card case (or cigarette packet) in three increasingly impossible and visual ways.
Little Miss Show - A great addition to your ambitious card routine that starts as a gag, and then BOOM! (To quote Jay Sankey).
Sock It - Show why you think it's safer to keep your money in your socks with this modern update on the classic "Coin Through Handkerchief' from Bobo's Coin Magic.
Bandit - An excitingly visual ace production - definitely something to practice!
Smiling Queen - A typical piece of 'Liam' silliness. Show off an origami fold where the Queens portrait on a banknote is seen to smile - and then take it much, MUCH further!
Sleeve Assembly - A new presentation for the classic 'Assembly' type effect that simplifies and justifies everything.
Corker - This has to be seen to be believed... well, Andi Gladwin was shocked, anyway.
Card Deck Case - A great routine to practice and hone your misdirect ional skills. Four aces appear under the card case, twice, before the entire deck follows them!
Happy Monte - A take on colour monte that adds some cheekiness! Just scribble on some business cards, and your ready to go anytime... Just wait until you see their faces!
Only Joking - This is a great card routine with heaps of magic! Also features Liam's Ace Cut Production, and a bonus idea with it. Check it out!
Card Through Bag - Cause a signed selection to visibly penetrate through a clear bag in another updated version of a classic (and largely forgotten effect).
I am wondering that in the future we may be teaching our Grand children the Liam Montier Move, cut or shuffle? I feel that’s where Liam is moving towards all his tricks are simple and refreshing because he gives re-birth to some of the old classics (Card through Bag) Incidentally with the right moves (That I am still working on) the whole deck can come out the bag leaving the specs card in the bag I’ll leave you to work that one out.
The Ace Cut Production, is a diamond for people that don’t want to or can’t do “Flash cuts” This method you can be a messy as you want or look messy and the results are still good. I like to forget what I am going “In the spectators eyes” and mess up a little for me it leaves the spectator with yet another question mark over their heads “How did he do that looking rough”?
Measles: This one with more playing around with a few extra cuts can be made into Multiplying backs. Lets say you have an animal rather than an Infection lets use Psycho Rabbit!!! Psycho Rabbit will appear on lets say the fist 5 cards (Backs) It’s possible to get it so that Psycho Rabbit wife turns up and then the 5 kids by the end of the performance, all you need to is work it out.
To sum up Liam gives you inspiration to create your own effects using his methods the Wow factor comes with his guidance and your presentation. Oh and BBM for yet another flawless production on how to get the message to the viewer, I think by now we all know BBM can be trusted to give us more than our monies worth, No it’s not an excuse to put Prices up Owen!!!
Well worth the money enjoy
Take care all.
