So.. I have had this for a few days to practise with this and i can honestly say it is a wonderful effect. The props you get with it are very nice, the book is really good. I have just finished my script and made it a bit 'darker'. This is a wonderful flowing piece of entertaiment that will be ideal for cabaret or small audiences. Each part of the routine is easy to do (experienced mentalists will be have a big advantage when learning this) and the individual parts flow together to give a smooth routine. This would also fit well into a current stage show, you could have this as a 20 minute piece in your show. One of the best things about this is that it uses multiple audience members which is always a good thing.

Even the less experienced performer will find this easy to perform. The instructions by Dr Todd are very clear and easy to understand. You will also find it easy to fit other effects around this piece and create a longer show. So to sum it up it gets a 10/10 from me and you cannot fault this piece. Great stuff Dr Todd.

This effect is suited for six people - could you use a smaller group of people, say, four?

It is best to think of this as a modular piece. The selection of the witch for the trial included in the manuscript works for a minimum of six people, but the rest of the routine, including the map test, the book test, the various witch tests, and climax can work with fewer than six people. I am sure that you could work out a different method for selecting the witch if you have fewer than six.

Hope that helps!

Todd

Sorry for the bump, but seemed logical to tag this on here.

Smoke and Mirrors UK is please to introduce the witchfinders kit.

In collaboration with Dr Todd Landman, we offer stand alone 20 minute collection of effects and props, based around Matthew Hopkins and his witch trials. Not only are you seen to have an 'ability' your 'witch' also seems to posess some interesting qualities. All culminates to a finale where your audience are the jury and they decide on the guilt of the 'witch'. But of course you already know the outcome.

Based on his own routine he performs in his shows, with a little of Smoke and Mirrors this is one we are really excited about. This takes the condemned to a new level !
