Does anyone know a place or website where i can purchase this book for less than the advertised £38 on the official website? I know I have an insatiable penchant for buying and selling items on Ebay but, alas, my searches unfortunately only reveal item desxcriptions with a certain Paul Brooks (note additional S) who would appear to have released a post apocolytpic neo-chill out CD album.

Wha? Just stump up the cash....you will not regret it.

I received this book just after xmas and could not put it down. At every given opportunity i was reading it, my girlfriend lost me for a few days and even when i could not read it because of inconveniences such as my job, i found myself putting the techniques outlined in this book into action on my unsuspecting customers.
This book is dynamite and has changed my perspective on Magic forever, no more tricks for me, no sir! Pure Thaumaturgy from now on.
If you want to create miracles buy this book!!

Mr. Brook thank you and keep up the great work.

This book is getting very good reviews. May I ask whether it is written to address Mentalism performances specifically, or would if it would also enrich any routine in general?

I am new to magic, so am still thinking about a short “generic” routine that would suit me. I am thinking rubber bands, sponge balls, rope, coins etc... Aside of learning the skills themselves, I am struggling to come up with a story to link this all together, and make it more than just “tricks strung one after the other”. Would Alchemical Tools help me in this regard?

Thanks
LP

Most definitely sir. I urge you to purchase and hungrily devour every page. It really will make you see the difference between being a performer, and just someone that knows a few tricks.

I've already come up with different stories to make my effects more interesting, and im not even half way through the damn thing.

There are a few tricks at the end and even a piece on cold reading which im looking forward to.

Thank you Grimshaw!

Guess what, it's payday today ... and since I didn't get myself a Christmas present yet...

Without revealing too much details, I would be interrested in learning a bit more about how people who own this book incorporated their reading in their routines?

Have a nice day
Cheers

Not sure if all of this is hype or not and can't find the book at any of the magic shops.

Can this guy just pop out of the woodwork and release 'great' information, or is this another set of false promises and do we even know if he has been performing for long?

You won't find any of Paul's work in magic shops, he only sells direct.

I can assure you, Paul has credentials as long as your arm, not only is he a TM member, he has his own website, shop and forum, he doesn't pop out of the woodwork, he has been performing for many years, public, private, corporate and impromptu. To even mention 'false promises' is simply not appropriate - have you actually done any digging and research on Paul Brook? Try Google, try our search function but please be more respectful in your wording.

Jason, you clearly wouldn't have liked Hector Chadwick's book.

Okay I may have been wrong about his credentials. I do have to question why I have not heard of this guy before as I buy a lot of mentalism.

Before I buy this book I would like to know why you do not like the book Ian?

Jason... first of all, just buying "a lot of mentalism" don't mean you are "in the know" with things. Are you familiar with Jerome Finely's works? I just got his $350.00 Q&A book and am working on his $1,000.00 eBook and here's the real clincher; even if you have the cash he might not sell stuff to you. He only sells to people that work the craft and know the business.

I'm not trying to be a smartazz here, I'm just trying to help you realize that there are a ton of folks out there that I don't even know and I'm fairly well connected and known industry wide. I didn't know about Jerome until a few short months back and yet we've hit things off quite well.

Paul is "new" to the industry but seems to be a quick study. Partly due to the fact that he is a clinical therapist and thus, well schooled in how to communicate and influence others. I personally expect to see some great things from him, provided he stops crashing his car and competing with me in the ill-health aspect of things.

When it comes to books that are heavily hyped and suggest they can make you a master of the Universe... well, that should be a warning shot in that most fall far short. On the other hand, when other people are giving testimony about a product, you need to listen. You just can't fool that many people or pay them to say nice things.

The other side of this coin is that those books that promise you the world may not emphasize the fact that you must get off the couch and actually apply yourself in using the material they share in order to get the kind of results advertised. I can't count the number of people I know that bitch and complain about material that "falls short" when in truth it is they who are not working the process as it was outlined. Case in point... a young man recently purchased on of my Psychic Technology eBook sets, the one that deals with Seance shows, etc. He writes complaining that "it don't work". Well, it don't work because he skipped all the steps leading up to that point and thus, didn't get the ground work laid.

The moral of the story is, it's not always the author of a book that's in the wrong and just because you haven't heard of someone don't mean they are a no body.

i was being a little facetious...

to be honest - i didnt like the "big i am" kinda attitude from you - just cos you hadnt heard of him, made it sound like you were dismissive of him by default...

i am biased, he's a good mate of mine - im going up to visit, along with a couple of others next week in fact...

if you can drop the strop, and do some research - its not hard via google afterall - then you may read all the good reviews of his years of hard, hard work...

its an excellent book - he's managed to put together, via his own experiences a collection of thoughts, ideas and ethos of the who/what/whys of mentalism...nothing is regurgitated...

all borne out of his own day in day out experience as a full time, pro mentalist...backed up with years of psychology, being a therapist, studying hypnosis and more...
