I find this man to be hugely hypnotic. Within 3 and a half minutes you just wont be able to get him out of your head. Amazing. Perhaps you could join one of his courses?

Thats if you can track him down. Never give up!

I learnt some of the basic's by going to a local pub that had one, and asked him if i could 'roadie' for him and over a few months of helping i pretty much learnt how to do it. Didnt cost a penny.
The main thing is that the person must trust you, before you can put them 'under' therefore none of my mate would let me try on them. :D

Might be worth a shot.

Peter Reveen has a few books out that are really worth looking into. They put me completely out in the first few chapters. Okay honestly the books are really worth checking out. Like him or not he is very accomplished and he is easy to understand.

I can HIGHLY recommend the course being discussed here:

http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view ... orum=22&14

I know the teacher personally and I can confirm that he is the best in the business.

It always amuses me that magicians who are so sure that there is no such thing as psychic ability or clairvoyancy or ESP still manage to fall for the old hypnosis gag.

Personally I'd sooner believe in ESP than hypnosis. I've witnessed several instances of what I believe to be genuine ESP, but have yet to ever witness anyone truly "hypnotised". They're usually just asleep (hypnotherapy) or just doing as they're told (stage hypnosis).

There. Is that the can of worms opened wide enough?

Hypnosis is a load of c*** (not the best) and the author of the course discussed on the magic cafe agrees with me. Incidentally for some reason when I click onto the link above it says that the thread isn't there but I know that it is because I have just been to the magic cafe.

We had better not get into the discussion whether hypnosis is fake or real but I think I am now in a position to show a link to the man who told me that it was a load of bunk. He just died recently and he was one of the leading stage hypnotists of the last century. Many people said he was the best. I couldn't reveal it before because he was still a practicing hypnotherapist.

On the other hand this site does come up on search engines so perhaps I shouldn't. After all his clients are still alive and may be devastated and disappointed to hear the man's true opinions on the matter. Also of course he only just recently passed away and such a post may not be fair to his family.

You know something? As I am typing this I have just talked myself out of it.

I don't know if I have posted this before but even if I did there is no harm in posting it again. It mentions the person above but does not identify him. This is an extract from my book on stage hypnosis which will probably be finished about the year 3021.
.........................................................................................................

Before I leave this topic I’d like to tell you a story. When I first started my performing career I asked a legendary stage hypnotist for advice. This fellow had retired from the stage and had become a hypnotherapist.

I looked him straight in the eye and asked him straight out “Are the people on stage really hypnotised? Are they really in some sort of altered state of consciousness or are they just kidding me and themselves?” My guru started to look uncomfortable and become evasive in his answers. However, I persisted and he gave in. He looked shiftily at his receptionist outside in the hallway then closed the door so she wouldn’t hear the conversation. He then looked at me and proceeded in a few sentences to explain the key to stage hypnotism. And it was probably the most profound lesson I had ever heard or will hear on the subject. This is what he said. “Look, I was a pioneer in this field. I was number one for about 30 years. In that 30 years I am quite sure I never hypnotized a single person on stage!”

This was quite a shock to me and although I had pushed for the answer I was nevertheless stunned to receive it. One of the most legendary stage hypnotists of all time had just, in so many words, told me he had been faking it for 30 years! After I recovered I asked him “Well, in that case, how do you make the people do all those crazy things?” He stared at me and then uttered the key revelation which opened up a new career for me. “You manipulate them, don’t you?” You do, of course “manipulate them” and I’ve been
manipulating them ever since.

In the next edition, Mark Lewis will be breaking it to us that the grass is green, and the sky is blue.

Seriously, was that supposed to be cathartic? Hypnotism isn't real? Oh, my Lord! Hold the front page!
