The extractor seems a lot like The pandora system by Shane Black. Would anyone kindly tell me if its worth getting both if you already have one.

The two are nothing like each other but work well together.

The Exactor (as the name suggests) is a way of getting a signed card out of the middle of a cased deck.

The Pandora System is a way of having a signed card appear in a sealed (or un-sealed) card case.

Two different devices for two different things.

Thank you Cameron,

One further question. Would you recommend for (someone who has the money to spare) to get both? Im sold on the Extractor, but unsure of whether getting the pandora system will "upgrade" the effect to anything more astonishing then what can already be done with the former.

Fello magi this little toy is so much fun. I've been combining it with Pressure by Daniel Garcia to really hammer home the fact that the participant's signed card really is encased within the playing card box, as evidenced by a balloon being inflated and magically and visually said deck penetrates and is trapped within the balloon...

Only to find some moments later that it has reappeared in another pocket. Bliss. I have some eccentric patter that I might try next time too. Guess one could even combine it with re-appearance in a sealed envelope but that could be a bit too crazy. In the same way musicians sometimes over egg the pudding on guitar solos perhaps that would be a tad self-indulgent. But my it would be pretty magical!

Just got a red one via eBay for £25 Inc pp! Looking forward to using it. Now I've got to find some red rider back bikes. The new boxes don't match.

Yeah that was one of the main points of concern when the new boxes came out. Honestly, people don't notice. I've done this numerous times with the new & old box but no one sees it, your hand covers the Extractor box from most angles, they only see the front really.

Unfortunately the front of the new Bike box is very different from the old rider back boxes. Anyone know of a supplier who sells the old style box empty? Magicnevin are all out of them.

There's honestly no need to start buying spare empty boxes. You box the original cards up, close it with fingers across most of the flap while they're signing their card. INSERT PATTER & TIME LAPSE HERE. Then when you stick their card into the Extractor deck you do it in the same way where most of your fingers arer covering the flap. They won't draw any comparisons with the original box because all the attention is on the signer.

If you still want to buy empty boxes, I'm sure it was discussed in a thread about the 'new box designs' so i'd search using that phrase & read the thread.

I've been using my Extractor with a Tally-Ho deck. No one has said anything, not even the few magicians that I've performed for.

It's really easy to change the Extractor outer box anyway. I've changed mine twice in a few months (I tend to sit on it).

The instructions recommend you don't do that...

Now that is interesting. I have always tried to be as careful as possible with it in the hope of making it last longer. I suppose they wouldn't put instructions of how to replace the outer box when they can just get you to pay another £50 for a replacement.
