Review
This is my first review, I wanted to do one I had that didn't seem to have been reviewed before... apologies if it has been reviewed previously.
First things first, let me say that before watching this DVD I didn't particularly like gaffed effects, I tend to like card tricks which can be examined afterwards, but saying that they have their place and can be very effective and I have used them, but sparingly. Second admission, I do like Simon Lovell, his wacky sense of humour appeals to me, he's not everyone's taste I know, and I like his detailed explanations. My reason for purchasing this was two fold: to have some gaffed cards so I could do of those routines if I wanted to; and secondly because of Mr Lovell!
There are some very strong routines here, and Simon Lovell gives some very good explanations, as well as giving a history of some of the tricks and attributing them to the originator.
Good points include: (depending whether you like him or not) Simon Lovell, a pack of gaff cards for a fairly large number of different effects, nice routines and a number of good explanations. The card stock seems to be very good quality.
Bad points: due to the nature of two of the tricks, two cards and thus two of the tricks, in my opinion, aren't the best, this is more than made up by the rest though. Two maybe three of the tricks seem a little too similar, but I suppose it depends which of them are the most suitable to your act. The music that Magic makers use might get on the nerves of some people.
Effects include:
DVD 1
Oliver McKensie Drink Trick Variation

Wild Card
Million Dollar Monte
MacDonald's Aces
Parade of the Kings
Simon’s Transpo
DVD 2
Princess Card Trick
Trick that Fooled Houdini

Sneaky Monkey in the Middle Variation
Overall
If you haven't got these effects and you like packet effects then you'll like this. If you're just starting out and you want to look at getting a whole bundle of gaffs this is the set to buy.
Value for money 8/10 (to have that many gaff cards for that price is excellent) Obviously it depends if you've got any of the tricks/cards already.
