I have two sets of this trick, both from Uday
Aluminium set
These are 80mm high and have a 65mm mouth. The balls that came with this set are about 22mm diameter. They are very lightweight and look a bit 'plasticy' IMO, but about the quality I expected for the price. I wanted a cheap set to play with before I made any serious investment. They were very tarnished when I got them, but they cleaned up nice with some polish. They came with a black velvet bag.
Wood set
These are 85mm high and have a 60mm mouth. The balls that came with this set are about 15mm diameter. These cups are a much heavier weight and are made of a pale wood (maybe pine). They are varnished on the outside which gives them a yellow/gold colour. Unlike the aluminium ones, they dont have a groove in the top to sit the balls on when they are mouth down on the table. even so, the balls dont tend to roll off anyway.
One of the cups I got has distinctive dark patches in the grain which makes it look different from the other two, but as Im not doing a 3-shell style routine, it doesnt matter to me that one looks a bit different.
This set came with a blue velvet bag.
Overall, I prefer the wooden set. I think they look a lot nicer, although some people might think they look old-fashioned. (That might be advantageous in some performances). If people are interested in a photo, Il get one posted.
Overall - Aluminium set 8/10 Wood set 9/10
