They have becoming a mentalist by Craig Browning why not have becoming a magician by ? It could be divided up by
Generally Starting.

Cards

Coin

Rope

So we don't get all the questions which are pretty frequent now on where should I start with cards, coins, rope. Just a thought.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

I think that perhaps a list of beginners books would be a brilliant place to start with this.

Off the top of my head, something like....

General Magic
Mark Wilson's Complete Course
Tarbell Course

Coins

Bobo's Modern Coin Magic

Cards
Royal Road to Card Magic
Card College

Ropes
Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks
Karl Fulves Self Working Rope Magic

Silks
Rice's Encyclopedia of Silk Magic
Karl Fulves Self Working Hankie Magic

Sponges
Spongeball Took Kit

A book on presentation would be a useful addition to the list as that seems a common question.

Added to the general magic section has to be "The Encyclopedia of Sleight of Hand and Magic" by Nick Einhorn. That is th eone I recommend to people starting out even more so than Wilson and Tarbell.

It is a lovely book.

I would write it but I don't feel comfortable suggesting books I don't own. I just recently got Bobo's and am still reading it. But I probably write one for cards but nothing else. :D
