Locked Deck

Postby Luker21 » Jan 17th, '04, 17:46

EFFECT: A deck is taken out of the box and is shown to have a hole in one corner. the performer explains that this is for a padlock to go through.
The performer ruffles the pack and the spectator shouts stop, at this point the spectator notes the card and with the card in view locks one corner of the cards together meaning there is no way the card can leave.
The spectator then holds the deck by the padlock and you make the card dissapear in anyway you feel. The spectator takes the still locked deck and looks through each card of the deck as slowly as they like, the card is found to have vanished from the locked deck. The card then appears in another place.

DIFFICULTY: 2

REVIEW: this is easily one of the most powerful tricks i own, It always leaves them stunned. there is also a large scope for immagination whereby you can decide where the card appears or even give the spectator a choice of places. My personal favourite is to pretend to shoot the deck and state that a ricochet can go anywhere after they realise the card has dissapeared. after looking through pockets and things they discover it up on the ceiling. its really cool. This does take a bit of practice but it comes quite quickly. the performance also has to be good and the performer confident that the trick will work (like all magic). The one problem with the trick is that the hole can cause the cards to rip but with a little care this is no problem.

PRICE: £11 (Davenports)

P.S. Anyone got any good ideas for where the card appears and performance technique for this trick?

This is a nice and easy trick. It is nice when you can rely on your props and only worry about your performance rather than sleights. but that is just me. I like this trick.

Hi there - An old classic resurrected!!!

I have been looking at this trick for a while and (because its my birthday today!!) I got given it today!!! yayayay!!

Anyway - the trick in itself is fantastic and simple - perfomance rather than sleight!! i also got to thinking what else I can do with the Padlock/Handcuffs etc... (oooerr!!)

I tried the following and got a huge response from a few people!! Use this deck to do SYNERGY!!

Padlock, handcuffs and all - People really freak!!
:P

Does anyone have a demo vid of this effect? I do an effect (that I thought up myself...not claiming to be original, but self created my version) where the card is signed, but ultimately ends up in the zipper pocket of my wallet......
