Review

Money transformations meets questionable trick names (CM) here for Pimpin by Nathan Kranzo.

It's no longer 5 1's into 5 20's/100's whatever, but instead a deck of cards into 5 bills. A VERY visual change that can follow up any simple card trick such as an ACR. Another very viable option comes straight from his site...
"As Chris Kavanagh and Curtis Kam have already pointed out this is the perfect presentation for a card to wallet. The deck changes to money…..”Wait…that money was in my wallet…that means…”, then you produce the card from your wallet. The perfect transpo!"

You receive either a dvd, download or both and this consists of Mr. Kranzo sitting back teaching you how to make it and how to use it in a very laid back video running just under 20 mins. There are no performance videos aside from him demo'ing it, but they aren't necessary because you can imagine the impact yourself.

This is something suitable for most venues, but might be easier to use as an opener, or to bring out after you've done some card work, then switched to something else, and then come back. It would be very possible to bring it out of your pocket to use though if you have a moment of misdirection.

Overall

I'd rate it a solid 4/5. All in all pretty much exactly what you'd expect after watching the demo, but a very good, 'nouveau' take on the money transformations that have been coming out lately. The video isn't anything exceptional but it is all you need to learn and get out performing it. Nathan's a funny guy and it's a good instructional video unlike some of those boring, monotone videos you see sometimes. It's straight to the punch, straight to the money. Just like a PIMP would.

That's a really nice looking effect! I presume i could use a handful of £10 notes and it's not just restricted to dollars?

I'm currently working on a bit of a card-to-wallet routine at the moment and it'd be quite nice to include something like this. Could be a bit of overkill at the end of the trick though, with this effect overshadowing the card in the wallet. Hmm... I'll have a think.

Thanks for the heads up though. :)

i read on his site that the length of the "Notes" (not "bills"...*shudder*) doesn't matter, but the width has to be as close to a deck of cards as possible. I dont have any teners to hand to compare, but it should give you a guideline :P

A ten pound note is about a centimetre over the width of a card and a five pound note is roughly half a centimetre over the width of a card. So if it needs to be CLOSE then a fiver would be better.

I just received my "Pimpin" DVD in the mail and KJ's reveiw is spot on. The width of the Bills/Notes is not a factor, Nathan talks about ways to handle this. The only issue I see...is if the Bills/Notes are not as wide as the Playing Cards you are using. If the Bills/Notes are slightly wider, than Nathan has an easy fix for that.

Pimpin is a truly stunning transformation...A real beauty to behold. It's well worth the money!

I reckon I know how this is done. utilises something very similar to Harris' Exit 51!!

In fact it's a nice take on exit 51 adding something a bit more visual with the note appearance!!

Just wondering if the "gaff" can be worked into a monte routine so as a final flourish you vanish the signed card?
