There's just Col and me here, and we never have guests, so I'm not bothered about concealment. At the moment there's no particular place to put the stuff anyway. Packet tricks and small books are in large plastic storage wallets to give them some sort of uniformity, and to make them easier to store on a shelf, if they ever get a shelf. Meanwhile it makes them that much bigger and therefore easier to find.

The general "magic area" is just outside the bedroom, at the foot of the stairs that go to the top of the house. All the plastic wallets are there, and most of the books. They share this space with a LOT of other books, as well as the spare toilet rolls and paper towels. And boxes of books. Did I mention the books?

At the moment 7 Deceptions and Miracles of Suggestion are tossed down on a bench near the bathroom, because I was reading them in the bathroom. Just climb the stairs, you'll see them staring you in the face. My set of Wonder Words CDs is also on the bench because they've got no other home to go to, but I think there's a Latin dictionary on top of them at the moment.

Magic DVDs are in their own little section at the back of the regular DVD binder next to the TV.

So if you're ever at Robbie's and need to find anything, now you know where it all is.

Cheers Tyler, I may just have to go with your idea. Either another hidden shelf somewhere, or just a closed part of a bookcase. If i get really paranoid, I could stick a lock on it.  :?

If you turn up here you'll know where the stuff on the bench is. I defy anyone to know where ANYTHING else is in this house. Not even me, a lot of the time.

Hint: Knowing something is "at the foot of the stairs near the toilet rolls" is not at all the same as being able to lay hands on it. And if you start an avalanche, you're the one who has to pick it all up again.

Last night at 2 am the wallet of Docc Hilford's little books went for walkies all on their own. Lord knows what set them moving, but they were in the hallway in the morning.

Oddly enough, I am shifting my magic stuff round at the moment. All my magic books will be going onto shelves in the top room (where I am typing right now), so not in the living room, or anywhere else immediately on display.

I think it depends on your personal situation. If you live with people (or have visitors) who might snoop, then I can understand wanting to be a bit more secure about your magic books.

Mine are on a bookshelf in my kitchen/dining room, obviously in the dining room part thoe. All my gimmicks that I use are in my close-up case and all the gimmicks I don't use are in my spare close-up case situated again in my dining room but on the bottom shelf of my pc table and the rest of the stuff i.e practising stuff is in my pc shelf compartment at the top, and any old other junk that hasn't seen the light of day's for years is upstairs in my bedroom drawer but I don't get many visitors these day's  . No one even asks or looks if they come round they all know I do magic and see about 30 packs of cards,20 dice,50 elastic bands and a few drawstring bags containing goodies but they always ask me to show them something rather than go snooping but on the odd occassion someone has asked to look through a magic book I always keep a stock of marvins magic books from when I was younger or if I see one in the works for about a £1 I always pick one up and give them one of them to take home and read and there happy.
