Seriously, can we get a sticky somewhere with a list of who particular members are? Perhaps if they have a special contribution to the forum or to magic, etc. For example, Tomo has written books on mentalism. Craig Browning writes articles and most of his posts are indeed essays themselves . Other members may be traders in tricks/books or whatever, and I've seen that some are.

I just read a post by Mark Lewis saying Jay Sankey "Used to sell Svengali decks for me in Toronto". I have no idea what this means but it seems to me that Mr Lewis sells card decks. I think it'd be nice to have somewhere to show all this and save me having to ask, or staying left in the dark because it's too tedious to keep asking who particular members may be. I'm sure the more senior members may understand who everyone is, but most of us don't.

Wild Card - All Out Natural Genius.

Not a bad idea though!

I bet this is going to innuendo bingo

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

It's a nice idea but said members will end up with loads of PMs from randoms asking for secrets and tips and all that jazz.

But if you want to include me I'm a reasonably good contact juggler.

No Lawrence,

You are a bloody good contact juggler, not so good on the 9 of Spades trick though.

And you don't think that happens already?

Truthfully, TM seems to not have as many abusing such access as you'd find on some of the other forums.

I have little trouble when it comes to someone seeking honest advice or guidance but I do agree that some kind of "Directory" that allows folks to know that this person has a strong background in these areas might be wise. I say this because I've had several asking me about Card Tricks

... moving right along...

The thought has been discussed in the past but on a slightly altered "scale". The idea was to have specialists create sticky posts that would be a kind of study guide to novices for each category in the forum. I, after all, can't help people when it comes to doing Kiddie Shows or helping you decide whether to buy POS "A" or POS "B" from the Current Flavor of the Month @ E CUPS listings. On the other hand, I can talk your leg off on grand Illusions, Bizarre Magick & Mentalism

Well I was about to suggest that certain members may like to be listed as 'specialists' or advisors but then I thought against it. The idea isn't so much for 'who's good at what' but rather for acknowledgments.

I'm sure most members wouldn't mind, and if they did then they could be taken off the list for their own privacy.

But as I mentioned in the first post, members who may have written something, members who might be traders in magic goods, etc.

I thought against the advisor idea because we do that anyway. If you need help, you post a general item and get the advice of many knowledgable members, but also, importantly - those who want to respond. PMs are kinda forcing it on a person.
