A good storage place for all those 'must have' packet tricks is your standard PC....

Oh nooooooooo.

Please dont do this with anything with a magnet or paper in/on it.

The magents will zap your hard drive as if by magic - and theres a very very low risk of fire with paper.

I'm saying this with my IT professional head on.

Cheers

I was feeling very sorry for some of you guys, where is your will power. You are like little children in a sweet shop.

Then I was looking at how much I'd spent this year and lets just say it was way way over a thousand pounds. I began to think if I'm not careful I will end up catching this CUPS thing off some of you, cos I know you can catch viruses on the Internet.

So I'm dosing up on vitamin C and I won't order another item today, might even wait till my next two deliveries arrive before placing another order. Yup I can feel the Vit C already working :)

The problem with exams is everyone will tell you that they are 'the most important exams you'll ever take!" The problem is that though they might be, there's always another set coming along behind ready to be the most important exams you'll ever have to take :-).

Keep the perspective, don't let them panic you and remember there's always magic once you've finished.

Hope they go well,

Vic

I did an apprenticeship and it was the best thing I did in many ways. Learnt loads, paid nothing and when I'd qualified meant I earnt more than all my mates who'd gone straight into other jobs which paid fairly well at the start.

What ever you end up doing, make sure you enjoy it, your at the start of a marathon (life that is - lasts a long time, especially when your as old as me !!!),

Enjoy the summer, especially as it's the last long one if you're into the world of work!

Buying Magic Non Stop.

Postby Allen Tipton » Jun 11th, '05, 17:28

 8) Once you have been bitten, and I mean really bitten by the Magic Bug you are bitten for life. There is no cure so just settle back and enjoy it but don't bankrupt yourself. I found the best cure was, to have my wife with me, when near dealer's stands. Even then you need to a. leave your wallet, cheque book and credit card at home , locked in the safe and entrusting the key to someone else plus being handcuffed, behind your back. For those of you who keep on buying, and that's 98% of the Magic Brotherhood, get out those tricks, once a year. play with them and ask yourself, 'Can I use this?' and 'WILL I ever use this?' If not let it go. Oh I MIGHT want to use it ..sometime. There is no answer. We had gone to London in the early 90's to see Derek Jacobi, whom we'd met twice. One of my ex drama students had appeared in the West End with him. As it happened it was the Mgic Circle Dealer's Day. No, I hadn't booked the theatre seats deliberately on that day..though i was never believed. my said " I'll have lunch in the hotel bar and you go round for a couple of hours but remember, whatever you buy we have to take into the matinee with us" When I emerged, blank eyed, 2 hours later she quipped, " Now I know where you got that carrierbagitis from. I'd bought you 2 beautiful leather briefcases bu you insisted on taking everything to work in a plastic bag" I looked round and lo and behold there were some hundred magicians all running round the hotel, clutching plastic bags. Luckily I had only bought 3 pocket tricks, 2 silk tricks, a TT, and 4 books. They would sit easily on my lap in the Theatre. The worst thing is opening a box in the Magic Room and finding stuff, either unopened or you don't know what or why the hell you'd bought it in the first place.
After 63 years of buying magic I'm still doing it. Help!

I was dissapointed when I did mine that I was only allowed by the school to take 9, then once I had done my A-Levels I realised that my GCSEs were of no value to me whatsoever!

One guy I know took 12 GCSEs last year and had taken 2 the year before, and that was apparenty pretty normal at his school. To me it seems an enormous waste of time to do so many as presumably if you can pass that many then you are likely to do a-levels and go to uni at which point they become worthless.

Help!

Trying my hardest not to log on to magictricks.co.uk.....................

The current Mrs RDW bought clothes on the weekend, so I feel its my turn.

This is more addictive than collecting comics when I was younger.

I've just received my bank statement, and I've resolved never to buy anything ever again. Except NFW. And that nice DVD -- aaarrrggghhh!!!

I cracked, just spend 40quid on magictricks - a few downloads and couple of tricks. I did have £17 of bonus points to use though - so no too bad.

And I thought I have CUPS...huh...that's a relief...as I've been spending almost 150 pounds each month on magic I decided to limit it only to 100 per month :) ....
