ID - If you're looking for a really strong closer, I can practically guarantee that this effect is 'it'.

There's something that, for the audience at any rate, is absolutely captivating about the coin's firey descent through the deck...I suspect it's because they actually think they can SEE it burning down through the cards - the illusion is really that strong.

Give it some attention, and I'm certain your audience will be talking about this for some days (if not weeks) afterwards. As a bonus, I'd recommend always giving your spectator both their own signed card (which should naturally end up singed on the back) AND one of the 'burned hole' cards.

In addition, stright after the burn-through, *do* make certain you give them their coin to hold - it'll be really still very warm, further cementing what they've just seen

And - no - I'm absolutely NOT Jay Sankey

You do look a 'little' like Sankey.. well, a lot actually

I got in a flash yesterday.. I gotta say, this effect rocks!! I tried it out a few times in practice.. it really looks like the coin melts through the deck..

Its easy to see the reactions with this will be phenomonal!!

Well done Sankey.. and I do mean Jay.. not rob

I can't imagine using this at a paying gig. Seems like one of those "tricks for buddies" tricks. A bit impractical to have an extra deck just for one trick.

Does anyone really use this at a real show?

you can by doing a deck switch and using it as your last card trick.

I know you can but I'm wondering whether anyone really does.
I'll bet it's in very few pro repertoires, if any.

true, I see your point. but then in stage terms bigger is better, there are prob a few pro walkarounds that use it but I couldn't name anyone lol :)

I rarely perform in a flash when I'm working. I think it's one of those tricks you have just in case.

Well I use it as a closer for close up - but mostly that's the only card trick I do at a table. The rest is spongeballs, bands etc.

I do carry one other deck of cards that can be used, but there is never really time for it. Useful id approached afterwards though.

Of course you have a built in excuse for not doing anything else with cards as they have just ruined your deck.
