"When you see Gazzo perform, you’re getting 200%. He’s 100% magician and 100% comedian. The two aspects of his character simultaneously feed and devour each other to produce a riotously entertaining street act that would burst Merlin of Camelot’s eyeballs and the spleen of insult - comedian Don Rickles."
In May of 2004 Gazzo is undertaking a lecture tour of the UK. Gazzo is acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost street performers. Indeed his skills as a magician, comedian and street entertainer are second to none.
As part of his tour, on the 7th, 8th & 9th of May 2004 Gazzo will be presenting a two day innovative Masterclass. Held in Bradford, the Masterclass will focus on street performing, with work on the psychology of engaging a crowd, opening and closing pitches, hat lines, comedy and presentation. He’ll also look at how to stop a crowd, the best places to set up to maximise your takings and so on
The Masterclass will focus not just on theory but also on the practical aspects of street work. A highlight of the weekend will be opportunity for participants to take to the streets of Bradford. Gazzo will perform his routine and then each participant will get the chance to run through 10-20 minutes of their work. This will be videoed and at later date Gazzo will offer feedback on the same tape for participants to take away with them and use as a learning tool.
The real value of the Masterclass is to focus on street work with perhaps one of the best there is. It will be informal and friendly, a unique and innovative learning experience from a man who is ready to share the reasons he is so successful on the streets.
This workshop is not just for the experienced magician, indeed it has been designed for any for any magician and/or performer of whatever experience.
The fee for the Masterclass itself is £150 per participant. This covers a lecture at a local club, a cups and balls workshop, the videotape, the permit for the street work and all the learning experiences. It does not cover the cost of accommodation and living expenses. However, these can be bought cheaply in Leeds/Bradford. Looking at £22.50 per night if you are willing to share a room!
