Review
I bought this book on the strength of Nick’s earlier book “The Art of Magic and Sleight of Hand” which I along with everyone else found at the bargain book shop for around a fiver.
This second book continues in the same style as the first with equally clear and professionally produced photos throughout. The tricks though in my opinion much better than those in the first.
In all there are 200 tricks with 1300 step-by-step pictures broken down into 7 sections:
Close Up Magic
Party Tricks
Optical Illusions
Stunts and Puzzles
Stand-Up Magic
Stage Illusions
Putting on a Show.

There are many tricks in this book which would not be out of place in a working magicians repertoire. Nicholas Einhorn’s emphasis is on tricks which can be presented using simple materials found around the house and constructed with ease. There are some truly brilliant ideas for use at kid’s shows and as I’ve already stated on the review thread for his first book, it is because of Mr Einhorn that I am STILL building my own version of “Square Circle Production”. As with the first book, it is in all a joy to read and is a book which is invaluable for looking something up to perform as a last minute addition to a routine as the props are all so easy to get your hands on and construct in a minimum of time.

MAGIC ON THE CHEAP! Works for me every time!

Overall

Nicholas Einhorn books should be on everyone’s bookshelf sitting proudly next to Mark Wilsons Complete Course. As a matter of fact, I do tend to shimmy through Nicks book before going to Mark Wilsons…
