Hi,

I cant find any thread about John Bannon, I start this one to make up for what, I believe, is an injustice

What to say about John Bannon ?
Even after a while, Just "WOW" :!: I simply love his magic

He is a real inventor and a real good teacher (except for Dawn patrol  )

John Bannon is a creative force in magic. He can present magic and performs some wonderful routines.

As I just stated in my introduction, John Bannon is one of my absolute favorites! Currently, I perform call of the wild, card scam, Duplicity, imposibilia, and play it straight. His magic is simplistic, straight to the point, and always has great patter with it.

A real technician in my opinion!

John Bannon creates very interesting effects.

His performance is a little formatted, un-engaging and downplayed for me.

But still a great magician.

True that...an injustice indeed
My two favorites are Call of the Wild and Royal Scam
IMHO, Royal scam is the best examinable packet trick out on the market (especially revolving around gambling) and COW the best gaffed gambling too.
Detour deforce is in my stand up act.
How good is RS? If I could do just one card trick to get a GIG, this would be my choice.

We are still waiting for Cardzilla!!!

Anyway, John Bannon is one hell of a creative genius. Although we know that he is a legal attorney by profession and only does magic as a hobby (and extra income!), his creations are truly incredible. I've been performing most of his routines: Clock of Doom, Dawn Patrol, Dead Reckoning, Play it Straight, Royal Scam, Detour deforce, Lessons are Extra. It's endless, I tell you!

No worries Lenoir, I do perform it. It's not in my staple list though. Do not get me wrong, it is powerful but transposition of cards is not in my 'character.' It's just a prsonal preference. I focus on card mentalism and gambling.

Its interesting to read the post that started this thread, and comments that followed it.
Ive got to say that Although John is a great thinker, and a facinating writer.. He's not the greatest performer ive seen live.

Not by a long chalk.
you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

I bought that Bullets After Dark DVD Set and at the end of it he addresses that issue and it looks like it's probably going to be at least 30 years (if not more) before we can expect to see Cardzilla on the shelves of our local/online magic shop and he would like it to be never because he doesn't have nearly enough material (in his own opinion that is) to constitute making a DVD of Cardzilla because when he says something like Cardzilla he expects it to be a massive project that has tons of effects in it.
