Indeed but it's worth knowing. Shrink's pad is inspectable to a reasonable degree but has other weaknesses.

So you're paying the money on the basis you don't already know about WCP then? I fail to see how this fairly widely known concept can be marketed as a device. The only advantage is that everything looks white. But where is the advantage in that if the page/cover cannot be turned? You can achieve the same thing with the standard stuff as long as you don't make it obvious to the eye.

Or am I missing something?

Help needed with The Tommy Pad by Thom Bleasdale

Postby artychris » Jan 31st, '12, 17:28

Sorry to ressurect such an old thread... but it seems better than to start a new one in the circumstance...

I've downloaded the PDF for this from Alakazam this morning, and then made a trip to both Smiths and Rymans to get the required bits. Both a usable pad and the other white thing... unfortunately, they had nothing that would do the job.

I've had a quick look on Staples and Amazons site, but to no real avail...

Anyone able to give me any ideas or pointers as to where I can get what I need? Please PM if you can help!

Thanks! :)

I just wanted to add my thoughts to this review thread.

I bought the DVD, PDF and kit from Thom directly HERE.

Thom told me by email that the gimmick he sent out was not his usual, but he gave me enough detail that I can now source plentiful quantities of the 'good sh*t' myself - as Ted says, it is easily available on Amazon.

I made up my pad a couple of weeks ago, after finding an A6 pad that was perfect (I wanted a slightly bigger pad than the one supplied - although I will be gaffing that one up too). The pad I found had a yellow cover, which I found to be even better than the completely clear covers mentioned in the original method.

This weekend I gave the pad a proper run out in two routines performed at a dinner party.

I was frankly amazed at how crisp the impression was - not just for images, but for words, which is what I really needed.

I love how the impression is bold and clear yet simultaneously completely invisible. Very devious!

The method allows for a very natural handling, even with spectators to my left and right as well as in front of me.

The nature of the gaff means I felt completely calm and confident letting the spectator handle the pad - and yet the minute I have it back it is so easy to get the peek! Close it up and you're done.

I have a feeling this will serve me well for some time to come.

9/10
