This has come up again, due to this thread.
http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic27444.php
This isn't the first time the request has come up here, though in July Madrake made it clear that they saw no reason to have a new section, at that time.
I would say that sometimes threads are missed, that could be of interest or use to children's magicians. I have found some by accident, sometimes quite a while after they have been posted. There was a suggestion that the words, "children's magic" should be included in the title. Does that mean that people should write "cards, close up, coins," etc in the rest of the thread titles? Those are normally fairly obvious, so there isn't need. Children's magic does require different thinking, performance, etc, so it would be useful to have all the information relevant toi this in one section.
Realising that there is a limit on the amount of sections before the forum gets confusing, I will bring up a suggestion I made a short while ago, plus some more.
Could the Basement Archives and Essays be put together? As stated before, they haven't many posts in and aren't added to often.
Same applies to the Tutorial File Sharing and Techniques sections.
Also, could Events and Regional Meetings be combined?
All the above seem to be some of the less used sections, yet seem to fit together. This would clear three sections, so the addition of a Children's section wouldn't clutter up the forum. ( Even if the answer is no on the Children's section, it still seems as if they could be combined. )
It should be remembered that, at present, it is hard trying to search for specific items for Children's magic. ( Typing Children's magic into search brought up 15755 results!) Card tricks for children brought up 8031 results. Children's show 6974 results. The problem being that not only do we get "children" back in the result, but any other words that we need to use to try to narrow the search.
At least the search could be narrowed down to a particular forum, if there was one just for children's magic/magicians. Otherwise the same questions will keep coming up, unless people look through 1000s of posts.
