100% Commercial Comedy Stand Up
by Andrew Normansell

This is the first of a series of three DVD´s.
Andrew Normansell was a name not familiar to me. I had to watch this twice as I was not too impressed the first time. His manner is reminiscent of Wayne Dobson and I would think that he would come accross much better in real life. Having said that, the performance part of the DVD is before an audience, and seems to lack the sparkle of which he is probably capable. Probably an attempt to keep the best lines for himself.
I still laughed at some.

The effects are, I would suggest run of the mill, and I would dare to say standard fare, which he has groomed for himself and on the whole probably better suited to a close up environment. They are however not difficult technically. He does do a very good longitudinal side steal which he explains although almost as a throw away.

Contents:

Double Cross and Moroccan Rising Card
The first is a card routine using two spaectators, with an ambitious card theme. The second is a bit of nonsense to produce a chosen card.

There are a couple of gags. One of these new to me. Made me laugh. If you do light mentalism you will use it.

Economy Flight
An easy no palm cards accross.

Heat Seeker
The vanishing cigarrete sometimes lacks a good finnish. You could use this one.

Gag Torn & Restored Napkin
Another throw away gag. Not for me but in his hands and before the right audience ...

Solid Silver
This is coins accross. There are many versions of this trick. This is just another; and I am just not sure that it is that original. A bit repetitive. However, simple and to the point.

Pro ID
This is just Andrew telling us how he likes to do it. Cards rearranged but not much else.

Rising Cards.
This is his take on the Devano Rising Cards.

Not many credits, but an hour of a performer taking us through his act.
