Hhhmmm. I still maintain it's not a problem. I showed the picture to my lovely asistant, and asked her to describe what she saw and if she could work out how it worked. Whicjh is a giveawy in itself.
She told me it was a £2 coin and a load of quarters.
We have to remember that we all are coming at this from a different angle. We are magicians and we know how an awful lot of gimmicks work, we are in a better place to work out these things.
It sounds like you are worried about the laymen finding out how a coin unique works, well a laymen wouldnt even know about a coin unique to start looking. And lets face it if they really want to know, then they are going to find out.
This isn't like exposure programs on TV, this is about someone WANTING to find out. If they are that determined then they can. Its that simple. We all did after all.
Magic sites need to sell their wares. I would be more inclined to buy fom one that has pictures than one that doesn't. Please guys, lets not get paranoid about this.
As for what Nick says, I totally agree, I have actually refused to buy items from a magic dealer before because they wouldn't demonstrate, or tell me how a trick worked.
And if you are worried about that - what about the TT? I hate the laymen knowing about the TT. I hate them even knowing that the "little false thumbs" exist, but even the description of it gives it away. Does this mean that we should rename it ItemX?
And as for sponge balls! What a give away that is. "What! You mean they are made of sponge?"
For goodness sake!
(ooh I love it when I get carried away)
