The Effect

"A card is selected and signed from a red backed deck. The magician shows three blue backed cards, one blank faced and the other two, regular Jokers. The magician then places the signed selection back into the pack and places the blank card on the spectator’s palm. 'Apparently, all you have to do is just concentrate on your card and it will print itself to match the card you’re thinking of!' When the blue backed, blank card is turned over it is seen to not only have printed the face of the selection but to have printed the spectator’s signature also."

Cost

Currently a special offer at Magicbox so only £4.99 (from £7.99).

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Magicbox say 1 but they seem to say that on everything they sell. You have to be able to do a DL but the circumstances under which you do them mean that you don't have to be a master.

Review

I actually love this. I say "actually" as I have come to assume that the reduced stuff at Magicbox is stuff they can't shift. I've only performed it twice but it gets a hell of a reaction, especially if you really milk the final moment. I keep wondering could this work anyway without the gimmicked card but it really wouldn't in the same way.

It's a cheap price and though you could argue that you only get three cards, two of which you would probably own anyway, plus some instructions (which, if anything, are *too* detailed - I wrote out my own brief summary instead), it offers much more value to me than a 30-minute DVD I just paid £15 for, the effect of which could have been summarised in one paragraph.

Overall

My first ever review so don't know where to pitch a score yet but I find little, if anything, to fault in this.

Feel free to PM me with any queries.

Thanks for the review Tim. Seems like a nice little effect for very little money.. Just been over to Magicbox and at the moment this item is out of stock - just shows you the powerful influence a TM review has over the marketplace!!! :D

'Tis true words he speaketh. It seems like every time I log in to TM I end up spending money. It's not even funny anymore.
