Imagine you die and find yourself in a large open space. All you see are two doors, one leading to heaven, the other one to hell. None of both doors are labelled, so you don't know which door leads to heaven and which door to hell.
In front of each door stands a guardian. One guardian always tells the truth, the other guardian always lies. Like with the doors, it is not possible to tell which one of the two guards is the liar and which one the truthful guy.
You are allowed the ask one of the guardians exactly ONE question to find out which one is the door to heaven.
What is the question that gives you 100% certainty to step into heaven's door?
I would ask him :
If I ask the other one where to go what would he say.
And I would go the opposite way( heaven here I come !)
Scenario one: I ask the guy who says the truth and he will tell me the lie that the other would say. So I have to go the other way.
Scenario two: I ask the lying guy and lies about the truth that the other would say. So I would have to go the other way again.
Hope I explained it decently enough
