In six years, the son will be 5.25 years old while his mother will be 26.25, exactly five times older.

If the son is -0.75 years old NOW then the father is probably at this moment lying on top of the happy soon-to-be mom (or whatever style he/she prefers ;) )

Could still be in a pub! Then everyone's a winner.

Can we get a riddle from you magnus?

Given the unlikely possibilty that I'm right, here's another one:

Imagine you die and find yourself in a large open space. All you see are two doors, one leading to heaven, the other one to hell. None of both doors are labelled, so you don't know which door leads to heaven and which door to hell.

In front of each door stands a guardian. One guardian always tells the truth, the other guardian always lies. Like with the doors, it is not possible to tell which one of the two guards is the liar and which one the truthful guy.

You are allowed the ask one of the guardians exactly ONE question to find out which one is the door to heaven.

What is the question that gives you 100% certainty to step into heaven's door?

I would ask him :

If I ask the other one where to go what would he say.
And I would go the opposite way( heaven here I come !)

Scenario one: I ask the guy who says the truth and he will tell me the lie that the other would say. So I have to go the other way.

Scenario two: I ask the lying guy and lies about the truth that the other would say. So I would have to go the other way again.

Hope I explained it decently enough

And in case I'm right:

Four men were in a boat on the lake. The boat turns over, and all four men sink to the bottom of the lake, yet not a single man got wet! Why?

None of them are single, they're all married or have girlfriends.

Um. Either they were on the moon, or they were all bald and you got the question wrong.

Oh. And it's seas on the moon, isn't it?

Ah! There were four of them. They all got wet, thus not a single man got wet.

yep, Mare Tranquillitatis, Mare Crisium, Mare Nectaris - Sea of Tranquility, Crises and Nectar, among others. All ancient lava flows, so they're nice and flat.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

A man is found lying dead, face down in the middle of the desert.

He is wearing a backpack.

His ribs are crushed.

The post mortem shows that he died, suddenly, 2 months ago.

Yet no one has crossed the dessert for 3 months.

What happened?

He was sky diving and his parachute was accidentally replaced with a backpack?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Maybe he wasn't skydiving his plane was about to crash, in a hurry (or he was blind) he took his backpack that was under the seat (instead of the parachute) and jumped of the plane.
He tried to open the parachute (obviously failed miserably) and made en excellent bone-crashing landing.

PS: I'll be leaving from work so in case I'm right someone else (J.E) can go.
PS2 : Or the guy who jumped off the plane was saved because he landed on the poor backpack guy who was hiking and left the crime scene to avoid consequences :D ?

Maybe he was walking across the desert when someone jumped him and smashed him in the chest with a baseball bat! who knows!? (then rolled him over after he'd hit the floor obviously)
I'd put my bets on skydiving being the answer we're after but there's several ways it could happen; just because no one has "crossed" the desert for 3 months doesn't mean he didn't walk into the desert, just means he didn't make it to the other side (well, you wouldn't if you were dead for 2 months would you?)
if you're implying that no one has walked into the desert for 3 months then who found him!? :?
Perhaps a parachutist whos pack didn't fail him!
