Magic Cavern

Postby philipsw » Jan 19th, '09, 18:07

Does anyone know if the Magic Cavern (emagictricks) still has a bricks and mortar shop? Its just I'll be passing close tomorrow and want to know whether to make the detour to see them...

I've emailed on website but could do with a speedy reply!

Philip, it might be worth calling them on 01204 452 802. I just searched for them on BT Directory Enquiries and the address that came up is different to the one listed on their website: 399 Chorley Old Road, Bolton, BL1 6AH. According to the recorded message on the above number, they have moved location so they might not be where you think they are! (Still in Bolton, though). Hope that helps.

Thanks for that Replicant.

According to the ever-useful http://www.ipswichmagicalsociety.co.uk/linshopuk.htm shop finder, the address you listed is their (presumably old) address.

The only one I found on the website (2 Lingmell Close) was for 'returns'. And it sounded residential.

Positively the website does say 'a real shop too'!

But if anyone has their new shop address I'd be grateful.

If you get no joy with the new address, just ring 'em in the morning. With any luck, a real person will answer the phone.

rang them yesterday, answer machine said they'd moved to another address, looks like they've chosen mail order only...... shame. But saying that, their prices are still good.

Just to finish this off...

They emailed back to confirm - bricks and mortar shop definitely closed - mail order/internet only now.

But the silver lining...
... I persuaded my wife to take the return journey via Wakefield, so we got to visit Merlins instead :-)

My quest to visit all the magic shops in England continues...

That notice refers to Magic Cavern only, not e-magictricks and is old news - January 2009.
