Check this out! Better than the official trailer! Turn your volume full up and you can hear a suspicious whiring noise! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4TTQ16djhA

IAIN... I did for a while but got so frustrated at snags etc that I gave up all thread work. Then i went super silky and found I couldn't make loops etc and had an all round nightmare so gave it all up again... then i got back into it and then fell out of it and so the cycle continues!!!

£50 to dip my toes again could be pricey!!

I do not own the reel but know what it is. Countless problems with it I'm sure. The reel, from my understanding, is hidden in the one place that thread should never be hidden.

Better off buying the original by Steve Fearson :P.

 sounds so very familiar

I love what can be accomplished through IT but I think I'm better off dealing with the heavier, less "complicated" (and questionably dependable) stuff I've used for years... it don't do well under the closer settings as spider threads will, but at least it's not susceptible to all the aforementioned headaches and unpredictable failure factor. Then again, the newer IT is the sort of thing that requires grace, patience, and a kind of intuitive rapport a klutz like me will never have. :?

I don't do much (read: any) thread work for lay people but sometimes mess around with the stuff on my own.

Just had a go, and - surprise surprise - you can do the spinning ring onto spec's finger perfectly well with the Fearson Hook-up alone. I bet it's a whole lot less complicated than the tarantula too

I don't do IT work much, as I can never be bothered with the hassle of getting hooked up.

I boight the Tarantula at South Tyneside though, as it's very easy to bring into play and dispose of.

That said, my style doesn't suit flying object effects - I'm looking forward to playing with some more subtle PK ideas.

does it matter? we are discussing the tarantula here

( both came out at around about the same time, though time-wise, i believe feersons had the edge )

Hi!
Can you recomend where to get Tarantula from? the cheapest the better of course .. and the refills too since most people are suggesting to get those with the Tarantula right away.
Thanx!
