I went out with this last night and it got brilliant reactions.

I was well aware of the angles and not one person "spotted" it!

It was a family party people were sitting on patio chairs and others were standing. For those sitting I just crouched down to solve the angle issue which did not seem out of place as everyone was seated with no table so they could all see.

I changed the handling as the instructions are rubbish but clear if you know what I mean. It can be instant reset so you can perfrom it one after another without any fumbling about, you can even put it away and bring everything you need out ready to go with no problems.

I was though not using everything suppied as examination was not an issue.

The handling evoloved through the evening and not once did anyone ask to see the dice and why should they as they look normal. The mirror was asked for but there is nothing unusual to see.

Overall I am very pleased with this and it will stay in my set.

I've just called WMS and apparently the difference is that the dice in DI 2 is magnetic.

When I asked the person on the phone how would that help/improve the performance he said he doesn't know, they just sell the magic trick. I'd have to ask the inventor. I found that amusing.

He finally said that if the dice were magnetic, they'd be able to stick on the mirror. So maybe that would help? (as in not having to hold the dice)

Oh well, just thought I'd let you guys know.

Yes it is magnetic (but there are another couple of secrets) which helps with the set up as they can be in your pocket in the right way to get it out when you want without fiddling about.

You also have the benefit of being able to hold the dice out while showing your hands empty and then produce the clear dice at the end.

I can see why the first version was not liked now as it would have made things a little difficult, version 2 is a lot better and gives you more scope.

Haha! No wonder he was so roundabout in his answers and didn't say what, if any, of the modifications were.

I guess he thought I might have just been someone trying to figure the trick out or summat. Can't blame him really. You do put it better though.

Thanks for the clarification!

Glad to see people are getting good responses from this charming effect. Was privately miffed at people complaining about the angles.

what exactly are the major differences between version 1 and version 2? What is the advantages (assuming there are) of version 2? Is it worth the difference in price?

Finally got my hands on this. I like it. I've not had issues with angles; it shouldn't be a problem unless you're 6' 10" and performing for midgets. Just pay attention to your handling and it's fine. The props are a bit cheap but it does the job.

I have DI1, However seems like DI2 has a DF mirror that's the only difference. ANd magnetic Maybe?

I really love this performance, by ポン太 the スミス, much for fluid with a double sided mirror. I really think its better then Lu Chen's presentation. Short, sweet, then just walk off. Magic.

Thanks for posting that, Yano. Nice performance. That switch at the beginning was smoother than a very smooth thing that's just been ironed. Smooth. 8)

DI1 also comes with a double-sided mirror. (It's actually a piece of plexi-glass-type material).

If it's any consolation, my gaffed die is not the best. They've done a shoddy job of it and it's a cheap imitation of the original, which I believe was much better quality. Perhaps I will seek out the original at some point, assuming it's still available.

Got mine today (DI1), and I'm majorly disappointed in the cut of the gimmick (Not actually cubic and the number holes are really terrible, strange as it may sound). Sadly it was a gift from an overseas friend, so getting a replacement will be tricky...

Grr....
