Cameron Francis’ doesn’t look a day over "18!"

Well well well. I recently saw on www.Full52.com that Mr Francis and Mr Forrest are releasing a combined DVD which will hold some truly awesome material. My mind instantly switched to “I must have this!.” So imagine my delight when I see that one of the effects featured on the DVD now ready for learning at a moment’s notice! However, it’s awful, not worth buying...

...Only Joking! Truth is, I want this to myself entirely!

This is absolutely awesome! The effect is just such an awesome effect. Magic that is completely controlled by the spectator, that seems completely uncontrollable and yet your able to pull of this incredible display, is always a good effect. This is better than most. I thought the effect was awesome... but then I saw the method. Absolutely genius, So simple and yet so workable. Everything about the routine just... works! I thought the effect would involve remembering some complex memory work and well, lots of tom foolery. When in fact, this is so easy to do it will take minutes to make and master.

So what do you get?

The PDF is 9 pages long with incredibly detailed scripting, routine, making of the effect and presentational idea’s as well as photos and bonus ideas on how to perform. Everything is very nicely laid out and easy to follow.
The effect is so unbelievably commercial that I will be performing this in my close up sets straight away (in fact it’s in my hand as we speak). The reactions from the spectators are delayed shock and disbelief. When they weigh up that you never touched the deck, they done it all and everything was undoubtedly fair, they have that completely stunned face.

Just to top it of, he’s thrown us in a freebee! “18” is worth everything on it’s own but now we see he’s given us another awesome little gem. Let just say, if you like diary effects... you’ll love this!

Overall, 18 is another fantastic effect. Well thought out, easy to make, perform and fit into most any repertoire. One of the best Instant Downloads so far this year.

Mr Francis has created an absolute ‘in the spectator’s hands’ miracle which gets jaw dropping, face slapping, tongue dripping reactions! You have to get this!

Best Wishes,

It bugs me that these creators of tricks will give AMAZING reviews for other creators tricks so that they will get the same in return. I mean that is par for the course but be reasonable. The reviews are almost all hype now, to the point where it doesn't even mention what it is. Instead it just tells us how this one is the most newest groundbreakingest genius trick to date. blah

Hey, very sorry about that. I did put it in the review but i don't think i copied and pasted it all.

It's available here: http://www.cameron-francis.com/18.php

there is a video of it their also.

King, in reply to your completely out of place comment. I am a huge fan of Cameron Francis work and have for a while. His style and thinking of magic to me is very clever. This isn't me saying it for the sake of it. It's me saying it because i belive others will like it to. I do not EVER review anything unlawfully. I am always honest with my opingions. You will see i have given nagative reviews and positive on TheMagicCafe and other forums. I belive 18 is incredibly comercial and the thinking behind it really is clever. It's simple to make. inexpensive and has all the traits of a fantastic effect. I appologise if you feel that reviewing an effect honestly is not a good things to do. Perhaps in future i should allow the good effects to slip through the net and not inform people about them who may benifit from them in their sets.

Best wishes,

Jamie Daws

A killer piece of mentalism! Completely self working! Completely practical! Completely mind-blowing!

Effect:

A deck of cards is removed from its case and shuffled. The magician spreads the deck face up and asks a spectator to touch any card. All of the cards are different and this is truly a free choice. Let’s say the spectator touches the Five of Diamonds. This card is placed face up on the table. The magician then states that the spectator is to use the value of his selection to find another card. The deck is turned face down and the spectator is asked to deal 5 cards off the top of the deck. The 5th card is turned face up. It is a Nine of Clubs. 9 more cards are dealt onto the table. The 9th card is turned face up. It is the Four of Spades.

The magician hands the spectator a business card and asks him to total up the three face up cards on the table. The spectator writes 18 on the business card. The magician then asks the spectator to turn over the first card that he freely selected. On the back of the card is a message: “Turn The Box Over”. The spectator turns the card case over. On the other side, in bold marker, is written 18!

Self working!
No memory work!
Instant reset!

No gaffed cards!

Bonus effect included!

hope this clears the actual effect to thoughs that didn't know anything about it.
this makes your review much clearer and fair.

You're right. I was so excited when I read the review of Jamie Daws I almost bought it without even watching the demo.
I've seen the demo now and don't really think it's al that great. It's an 'ok' effect but doesn't come close to what Jamie makes it seem.

Hey!

I am REALLY fond of this still. The proof is in the audience reactions. The response is just overwhelming for such a simplistic effect. This effect is not the only possibility with it. when you find the workings of it, youll understand the possibilities of this thing. I have a couple versions made. One of them is a booktest version of the effect in which the cards are added to find a page and line number. The line is found and a word on that line remembered. The card is tunred over to show the co-ordinates of a dictionry page and line. They turn to the page in the dictionary and sure enough it's their word!

The possibilities with this are awesom. I honestly review always and I think this effect could have been sold for a great deal more and still be cheap. I still believe it's one of the best downloads i've got this year.

All the best,

Jamie Daws

Hi, guys!

Little late to the game, here.

18 is an effect which has loads of possibilities. While none of the principles involved are new, I have never seen them used in this combination before.

And the number doesn't have to be 18. There are many other numbers which can be used.

If you try this for a lay person, I promise you the reactions will be through the roof.

Also, if you think you know what the stack is, you probably don't. I've had a lot of people speculate but none of them have been right. It's a lot more simple than most people think. :)

BTW, just so you know, this effect will be one of the featured effects on an upcoming dvd of collaborations between Dave Forrest and myself. The presentation in the PDf is slightly different, though.
