Software: Magic Show Builder

Postby condemagnum » May 9th, '09, 01:45

I have launched a software for magicians. Magic Show Builder.

As I don't want to seem sales-pitching here I would be very obliged if someone would post a review.

It can be found at magicshowbuilder dot com

How about starting by reading the forum rules, regarding advertisement, introduction etc.?

It smells like a fraud.
It looks like a monumental effort.
It sounds like a dodgy service.
It feels like there's something not quite right.
It reads like a get-rich-quick scheme
It contains copywrited material

And this ...
A: Your email is needed to create an account to the site, so you can download the software and receive important announcements.

... is wrong on so many levels.

I haven't looked at this yet but just about every web site these days asks you to register with your email address in order to create an account. Personally, I don't see that this is that much of an issue!

But I'm a paranoid old goat ...

I know, I'm a bit of a twit but just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me. ... I hope ...

Wow!

I really started here with a wrong foot.

Ok. My name is Salvador Calderon. I'm 49 years old. I have been an amateur magician since I was 9 years old. I was about to go professional but decided to pursue my career as Chemical Engineer. I have a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds and I work for a major oil company.

If you make a whois search for the domain magicshowbuilder.com you can get my home address, phone, everything.

How's that for an introduction from someone making a scam?

-Yes, it has been a monumental effort for me to bring this product to the market.
-Yes, It contains copyrighted material. Mine.
-Now I am really worried.

A fraud?
If you are selling anything (say your car) and a prospect is interested in seeing it. Don't you ask for his name and phone?
I offer a 90 day guarantee. (No one has asked for a refund yet). You pay by Paypal. If you accuse me of scamming to Paypal they would close my account.

A get-rich-scheme?
Where am I saying that you will become rich if you use my product? I DO say that you will become a better performer if you SCRIPT your shows, get ORGANIZED and select the BEST TRICKS for each show. And yes. My product helps doing that.

A dodgy service?
My service is personalized. I personally respond to every question. I have tried to incorporate to my software all the suggestions I received from the Beta Testers, the Genii forum and the Magic Cafe forum.

And no. I did not intended this to be an advertisement, but a genuine request to have my product fairly reviewed.

I think I'll try the demo as well. As long as I don't receive spam... :P

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Well... It's downloaded, I read the manual and opened the program and everything works great. But... I just don't see myself using this. I realize it's a way to remain organized, but I don't really see it as a program that will improve my show.

I'm typically organized about my shows and my scripting but this... I'm not saying this program is a bad thing, if you're unorganized than I can understand it's use and maybe that's why I'm not finding it to be as useful as it could be, but, this is all an initial reaction and I will work with it a bit more giving it a fair test run.

:)

Another problem with this is is it seems to be hooked up to the internet as you type and I was wondering, are you able to access the routines people write down?

I'd be a little more happy with this if I knew that. :?

Thank you for trying it out.

Let me assure you that it is not linked to the Internet.
It has a link to the magicshowbuilder.com that if you click it, it will open your browser. There is no connection to a server of any kind. Only you have access to the contents.

And be sure that you will not receive spam from me. Only matters regarding to this program

Have you read the manual. What do you think of it? There are some tips that I think are valuable.
