how about getting rid of the intro's...and have a CV section instead?

by that i dont mean you have to had published work or something sillly..i just mean you post up pretty much what you do in the intros, but just leave it at that?

you could always say "hi" via pm if you wanted to...or just let the people settle in and enjoy the site...

i dont mean to sound cold with this...its just, i've never really seen the point in going through countless "hi, welcome to TM" posts...i know its friendly, but...a little pointless i reckon...

I agree for the most part that a CV could be helpfull to draw a profile of that person, but i think we still should be able to say hello to them. Afterall this is a forum where people meet and talk to each other so let's keep it lite.

I don't agree, I think it's nice to be able to say hello to new members. It gives them a nice welcome.
