Hideout Wallet

Postby Paul Smith » May 21st, '09, 22:33

Does anybody have any comments about the Hideout Wallet from Outlaw Effects. I am looking for a peek wallet that looks / functions like a traditional wallet.

Many thanks

Paul

Mine arrived the other day and I love it. I got it mainly for the peek feauture and it suits my needs perfectly. In theory it is an open wallet peek but you can get round it and the action is smooth. Simply letting the wallet open as you return it to your pocket and sit back is enough. I would actually like to see Outlaw market a wallet similar to the hideout just with the peek!!!

The m/o feature is also great. I really like the wallet basically! I much prefer it to the SA.

Thanks for the reply Harry, I have been looking for ages trying to find a peek wallet that looked like a traditional wallet and this looks perfect.
Does it come with much in the way of instructions/routines?

Many thanks

Paul

Ehm no it doesn't! The instructions adequatly explain the functions of the wallet and you're given access to the Outlaw Forum which has some good ideas. However, for the most part, everything is self explanatory. A peek wallet doesn't allow much more than a peek so it's all just putting your own spin on what you glean!!!

It's a great wallet but a couple of 'user comments' on the outlaw website exaggerate a little.

"The peek is instant and congruent, there is no need to re-open the wallet for 'some reason'"

(Yes you do - surely?)
"I LOVE this peek!!!! Imagine a peek that you can do RIGHT INFRONT of the spectator!!!! that's right, you get the peek INFRONT of them, they can see what you see but not the peek!!!"

(If they see what you see, they'll see something different - happy to say what I mean via PM)

I will take ownership of the first quote you mention.

You honestly do not need to re-open the wallet to get the peek. Have the card placed in, you take another business card. The wallet is closed, the peek is done. All out in the open nothing clandestine about the moves.

This really is clean. It is my everyday wallet and it is also a workhorse :)

Cheers,

-Paul

I've had my hidwout for some months now and love it. the peek is so clean yet so simple, its almost sinful.
and its a great everyday wallet, which means its always on me, ready to use at inpromptul moments, like in the pub, waiting for the bus, at the whorehouse etc.
one of the best bits of kit I brought.
with it you also get a password which gives you access to the forum on the website, where theres idears and routines from other performers who are as nice and helpful as the folk you find on here
my advice.......BUY IT

Was your peek window tainted with a company logo? Mine appears to be cut from some 2nd hand plastic that was used for a company printing and I'm not clear why. I've since acquired 2 others that are (IMHO) better quality.

I'm very surprised by that. If you brought it new I'd take it back and complain, aking for a replacement.
If, on the otherhand, you brought it second hand, then I'd take it back and complain, asking for a refund

Can anyone tell me if the SA wallet will do anything that the Hideout can't?
