The Effect

In the words of the blurb...

Anytime, anywhere, thought of drink revelation.

You rattle off a list of a dozen or more drinks. Standard recognizable drinks like coke, diet coke, sprite, coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, and several more.

You ask them to just remember anyone of those drinks that they would like to drink. You ask them to imagine themselves drinking the drink. You slowly reveal details about their thought of drink.

You ask them to imagine bringing the glass to their mouth to drink. “The cool glass touches your lips and the refreshing taste signals and stimulates the exact sensation that occurs in your brain when you are actually drinking and tasting”….at this moment you tell them the drink they are imagining!

No BS!!!

This is simple and pure mentalism. They just think of a drink and you tell them what it is!

This is a very straightforward ONE NO System where as soon as your subject, hesitates, or says no…you know EXATCLY WHAT THEY ARE THINKING!!!

With practice this effect can be performed with nothing…or even over the phone! There is a very subtle gimmick that is used in practice, but once mastered, the gimmick won’t be needed.

You can design and construct this little gimmick at home, but we have taken to the time to make them up for you. Specially printed in GREY and BLACK for best to use in stand up and even close up conditions.

Once again, this gimmick is a practice tool that will eventually not be needed, but is a must to perfect the presentation.

$7.99 as a download with a free bonus effect, or rather an application and justification for some existing mental techniques. The 'gimmick' is available for an extra dollar but really you don't need it if you posess a pen and something to write on.

Review

First off the effect plays pretty much as described. However there is a slight discrepancy between what you may imagine to happen from the description above and what actually happens. Nothing massive but to be blunt there's a spot of fishing to indulge in. The method will be known to most folk who have an interest in mentalism and relies on presentation (as always) to camouflage what's happening. Fortunately the structure of the routine means you can easily cover the process and afterwards it's unlikely your spec will smell a kipper if you've done the work right.

The 'gimmick' is simply a list with a bit of extra info that is best remembered rather than visibly in play during the effect, which works best as a piece of pure 'naked' mentalism/mental magic/however you want to frame it. I managed to memorise it sufficiently to perform on Mrs Bronz within 30 minutes and it shouldn't take long to be fully comfortable in performing without having to think too much, first impressions were very encouraging as it worked perfectly and left her baffled.

There is a discepancy which I've emailed Nathan about involving the last drink on the list, if you happen to purchase the effect drop me a pm before you perform if you don't notice anything amiss and I'll give you the heads up to prevent any possible problems.

Overall

A lovely clean direct bit of work for a wonderfully low price. There's plenty of room to develop the idea into a longer routine if you like but just playing it as described should be just fine and dandy.
