Staying secure

Postby pcwells » Aug 4th, '09, 10:02

Hiya!

I've noticed that when you click the forum link at the top of the auction site, the url remains secre with an https:// prefix.

That's not a problem, but Internet explorer keeps asking whether I want to see the insecre media as well as the secure stuff every time I move from one page to another.

I can solve the problem by removing the 's' in https in the address bar, but wondered if this is something that could be sorted in the link itself?

Cheers,

Pete

Well spotted!

It's the HTML code in the pages that is wrong. The Auction link above should be HTTPS, but it isn't. The reverse is true with the Forum link on the auction page. With the auction, there's a security risk if you don't use HTTPS.

To be clear - whilst on the auction pages all personal data is taken within the secure environment.

The only confusion is that sometimes you are remaining in the secure environment when it isn't actually necessary.

Sorry, my mistake. Once you get past the front page it does switch to secure anyway.
