Great DVD set
Yes - every day. It all works. Going invisible is a blast!
Awesome! I'm off out tonight and was intending to try it on some people should I get the chance. Field Test!

Well I think Lenoir was referring to when DB went invisible in front of a film student.

If you're going to lie, then do it well!

you do, sometimes...
and, to be a pedant, it wasn't derren's idea to turn invisible via hypno, its been done many times before...however, to do it to a suggestable film student, and come in as the invisible man, was...good little film too if you ever get to see it...

I was talking about being Invisible at all!
I was just, in general, having a brainwave that if Derren didn't use Hypnosis, all of this stuff would never have sold as much.

I hesitate to say anything, but the "Derren Brown Event 09.09.09" thread is starting to have an uncomfortable resemblance to the "Scary DB fans" thread.

Ok, I've seen a clip of that. Not what I think of when I'm thinking RIP and MC, although you can definitely do that. However, even though it's been stated that RIP and MC dont really teach stage hypnosis, that's what I immediately started thinking of - and that's been around since the 50's? The 40's? Earlier?
So maybe the better question in my case would've been: "Who else wants to be just like Daniel LaRosa?"

I'd love to do a stage hypnosis show, but I'm worried that any bookers would be looking for a chicken/pole dancer/eat onion style show, whereas I have, I hope, a little more class than that. I think it makes more sense for me to include hypnosis ("mesmerism") in my seance show. They do have a common ancestry after all.

Why not simply never mention the dreaded "H" word?

Never mentioning the "H" word also saves a buttload of trouble with bookers. Martin Taylor doesn't bill himself as a hypnotist because plenty of bookers won't touch them out of some fear that somebody's going to keel over.
