I've worked with old timers that would go out of their way to hide a broom suspension gimmick from any and all... security and secrecy was always at prime. The great Richiardi being one such perfectionist but then too, you will find similar things in all of the shows... IF you know what to look for.

Anyone can go on line and learn the raw mechanics of something like the Asrah Levitation. What they can't learn are all the little touches and special "never shared" mechanics that makes one version raise smoother than others or allows the covering process to happen in such a smooth, quick and deliberate way that totally defies the explanations that are so readily found.

These little touches are what we strive to keep quiet. Much of it centering not with the performers as much as it is with the designers and builders who understand how certain engineering touches will add to the over all impossibility around an effects; why, for an example, an Own Sword Suspension allows the girl to sit level from the blade tip instead of at an angle with her feet pointing down.

You would be quite amazed, the myriad of real secrets that are out there and remain unavailable even to our fellow performers; shared with but a select few either by way of direct exchange between friends or how the secret has been priced and made available through a limited mailing list instead of gross advertising and hype. So don't be so broken-hearted, there's still plenty of magick out there.

When you think about it tho. It IS rather silly to worry about what he exposes. I honestly don't know anybody who watches that show. Sure some people MAY glance at it, but it's such a boring, dull show that it just makes you want to change the channel and go watch paint dry.

Another thing that's funny about it is that I recall a few Magicians being able to perform the same exact things he did like right after he exposed them, and they pretty much were able to do it and not get caught at all. So that also brings up the point that not many people actually watch the show. Either that or they end up forgetting about it later on. Due to how forgettable the guy really is.

There's a famous story about how Jamie Ian Swiss did some strolling card magic during intermission at a Penn & Teller show immediately after then had tipped a particular cheat used by card sharks; Every single bit Jamie did was based on that one move and yet NO ONE caught on to that fact and most thought P&T were B.S.ing them after the intermission, when they told everyone what was going on.
